Last week I sent in my 5th Futaba 9205 servo to hobbico(tower) for not centering well. Just got a reply from Hobbico repair that the motor was bad and the repair would cost more to repair than the servo was worth. They offered to sell me a servo at half price, only 86.00.. I was also told if I didn't want there super deal that I would have to pay them 15.00 to inspect my servo. I have flown Futaba over 25 years and can't belive that this has come to represent their customer service. JR has just sold another 10x. After Phoenix I will be putting 8 airborne packs and 8U's on Ebay. Futaba can keep Hobbico(TOWER HOBBIES)! By the way, the servos were sent in in little over a year and this servo had 16 flights in a 30 size chopper with low gain so as not to overwork the servo.

Did you try talking to someone in management at the Futaba Service Center. I used to fly JR radios and have learned that customer service issues will happen whether you fly JR or Futaba. This same scenario can happen with JR and all I'm suggesting is not to be too quick to switch over because of the loss you will suffer. I did not get much for all my JR stuff when I switched over...I'd rather see you spend your money on another heli

Don't sell your stuff just yet! The Horizion Repair Center has it's share of problems too,,,I know first hand! However, Hobbico's generous offer of a "half priced 9205" for $86.00 is a bit over the top...Rick's has them for $110.00...and 86 isn't half of 110 even using Metric Math! Cyberheli and others have the servo for even less... Chris

Chris,
The $86 is 50% off retail price, but that must be with shipping charges and all because I believe that servo is only like $150 retail. Tower has it for $99 on there website.

I would suggest that you dump the 9205 servo and buy the 9253 instead. Most of your problems will go away with the new tail servo. The problem is really not with Futaba, but rather that the servo is not the best servo for heli use, and has been discontinued.

I have a good friend who has been trying to talk me into switching over to futaba. He has had the same thing happen to him many a time on recievers and one 9z as well as Futaba servo's. I told him that would be a joke to have that happen and no way would I switch. JR service has been exellant and very fast.
the only JR Item that I was unhappy with was the 5000t and 8700g combo as it drifted all the time ( I had 5 of them )
I now use the 601 and 9251 combo but have had 2 9251 servo's go on the blink. They fixed the first one so far and the second is in for repair right now as we type. I hope they don't try to pull that one on me. Fortunatly the servo's started to act up intermittently and I landed the heli's before anything bad happened.

This was a troll to just see what kind of response could be gotten.
Guess he was trying to get a pissing match started since this exact post is on other boards. Only problem it is on RCO and no one goes there much anymore.

Don't know what happened to you but all I can say is I have had excellent service from TOWER(Hobico)Hobbies. There is a great debate about Futaba vs JR vs Hitec etc. All I can say is that what ever you are happy with is the best radio for YOU. we can go on and on about wheather one is better than the other but the altimate answer comes down to how well you can use the system and does the sytem do what You want it too.
Thanks for listening to my 2 cents worth!
