Ok guys have a TT ST-1 with 28 engine ( this is the same one thats on U Tube ST1 Diesel). The conversion is fine engine tons of torque. Now the issue this is a prototype conversion the rear pull start is no more it has a second flywheel in the rear housing this eliminates a roto start we are using the TT starter box and 12 V battery the rubber starting wheel wears down very quickly
from the engine flywheel teeth, Any ideas on building this up or for a better term using something to ":recap" it>
I bought a OFNA box but the diameter of the wheel is less than that of the TT so no contact maybe that handle tool dip that stuff'
you make a plastic coating for tool handles but it pretty soft I have a new drive wheel coming it really needs a harder rubber
to hold up any thoughts welcome martin
It appears Davis diesel is going full out on diesel conversions fro a number of engines< most intrest is from the folks that own full
size diesels He appears to be favoring OS at this point

the Ofna by the way is a great box uses a 12V 7amp acid gel battery rather than the Nicad stick cells gobs of power

Worse case the engine can be always swapped for an OS or other quality engine too bad this thing really hums
if starting issue cannot be solve

One more thought it could be turned down a little grooved and a large vitron O ring put zapped in then the top sanded flat might wear better
