Looks good mate,did you make it all yourself the hardware i mean?,the only slight possible problem i see is the rudder ,the leading edge is a bit back from the pivot point it should work ok but its best to have the leading edge at the pivot point iff possible.Im sure it will work as it is though,ive made a rudder with the leading edge as yours is and it worked ok.The rudder servo has to work a bit harder with the blade behind the pivot point i believe ,but i wouldnt worry too much to be honest.

martnofan1, yes I made everything myself, except the strut. That I purchased for 10 bucks. But the rest is scratch built. I know what you are saying and to be honest, I missed that location of the pivot point. But I hope, like you, that it would still be O.K.

are you going to be racing this or plan on ?
If you are. Flip that strut around and make a wet well. or else it wont be legal to run with other boats

You did a nice job on the hardware mate ,dont worry im sure the rudder will work just fine the first one i ever made was well behind the pivot point and it didnt run too bad.Yours will work great im sure

Thanks for the laurels, guys. I am excited myself. We have a few new projects running right now and everybody is anxious to get ready for the new racing season. I know I still have quite q bit ahead of me, before I can even think of the maiden voyage.
Taylor Shaw, I am afraid I don't follow quite what you try to tell me. That strut is perfectly simmetrical, so what woud change if I turn it around. Could you explain what you mean by wet well, please.

Virginian; Beautiful hardware. Do you work with CNC or something similar? Not anybody have the tools and skills to make that.
I think what was meant by flipping the strut around, was to mount the brackets inside the boat so that the strut exits the bottom
of the hull. Think the rules state that the strut cannot go past the transom. Only the drivedog, prop and propnut. Correct me if

Well guys, here I am, back again. After a long interruption (was building airplanes), I am back in business. Meanwhile I joined a local club and I am all hyped up. Hopefully in a month from now I should be in the water with my project. I am close to filling the inside with PU-foam and then epoxy the deck. I reinforced the motor compartment with CF, which sure makes a difference in strength. All water lines are done and motor is ready to be dropped in. All wood reinforcement are epoxied in. Noticed the aluminum brackets for the rear wing. I want to run in the Hydro Sports class, as well as in the scale class if I can. Next thing to do is to add approx. 12 oz of lead to the left sponson before I fill it with foam. Hopefully before the end of the week I have the deck on and get her ready for glassing.

Finally got the deck glued on. Now she is ready for a layer of glass. I am going to glass her with a layer of 2 oz. cloth all the way around then brush on a light coat of epoxy. After a good cure the real fun is gonna start: Sanding

. In between I am going to work on my cowl/canopy, which might turn into quite a chore. But I am determined to test run her probably in three to four weeks. Weight at this point is 13 pounds. I am hoping to stay around 16#, preferably less. We'll see after the glassing and paint job. Checked the CG with all the hardware in place and it is right on the money. Slightly behind the transom of the sponsons. Next step of the build should not be too far in the distance.

Deck is glassed

. Tomorrow the bottom will be glassed and then one more coat of thin epoxy.

I wish you hadn't done that. A properly built hull doesn't need to be glassed and you have added extra un-needed weight. A thin coat of epoxy on the outside is all that was needed

I thought aqbout that, too HJ. But most of that stuff is going to be sanded off anyway. So I dont think it will add that much weight afterall. It sure adds quite some strength, though.

I personally wouldn't have glassed it, but if I did, I would have only glassed the hull, not the deck. That boat will be bullet proof

, I'd hate to be the guy who runs into your boat, they will be the ones coming off second best

the hull looks good so far, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

also once the resin has set, lightly sand it & then mix up some bloomers in the resin to make a bog & scree it into all the pinholes & gaps in the glass weave. this will give you a nice smooth finish to apply paint to. that's how I do my fullsized boats.
