Hey chief;
glad you're still around. Regarding the paint I use a $3.50m rattle can from "Rustoleum". That's the only yellow I could find that comes close to the real "Miss Llumar". But after I applied my decals I go over the whole thing with a protective Poly Urethane Spar as a clear coat. Should be done the week end after next. I will post plenty of pictures once she is done. How is your project coming along? I haven't seen any posts from yours in a long time. I hope you haven't abandoned it yet.

I used acrylic clear in a rattle can for my hydro works great,gives a great shine as is but i then waxed over it and buffed it up a bit.

I agree, mart.
I used those cheap rattle cans with great success. It doesn't have to be an expensive automotive paint to come out nicley.

Hey Virginian,

It may seem like it, but I haven't abandoned my project. I bought a real boat and have been working on it to make sure it is sea-worthy. I hope to use it as a platform to run my gas hydro from when it's finished. I will post pics shortly of my progress, Take care,

Scott

Well, guys,
HERE SHE IS Almost done. What you think? Still a few minor things to take of. SST braces for the wing, cowl lock down, clear coating the top and cowl and the radio. Maiden voyage probably on 4th of July. Hopefully with video. Total weight 14.5lbs which is considered lightweight for a hydro.

Thanks, Marcel;
That's exactly my hope as well. But I am positive. I did a lot of studying on Hydros and have been copying sponson designs from top performing boats. The rest is pure guess work. But that's exactly what challenges me. Taking the chance and risk of venturing into an relatively unknown field and see how well you can master it. If you were able to then the award is just undescribable.

Thanks for the praise, guys. Yeah, I am pretty happy with the end result. The big day is going to be the 4th of July, most likely. Don't worry, mart. I left the prop off purosely for the picture shoot. I didn't want to risk the expensive pool liner .

Scott,
I sure will let you guys know how she ran on her maiden voyage. I should have my new GARMIN Forerunner 201 before 4th of July. That's when I plan to get her wet.
