Wondering if anyone is planing to do a build thread or if there are any flight reports on the Great Planes combat P-40?

I picked mine up last week but won't get to start on it til next week probably. This is my first GP plane but the quality of the wood (that I can see) and the covering looks good. Everything was well packed and, upon first read through, the instructions look clear and consice. I'll be powering it with an OS .25FX, mac header & mousse can.

I thought the plane was going to come without a functioning rudder (don't know where I got that idea) and I was ok with it since the other guys who fly combat planes (GP Spitfires, Mustangs & Corsairs) at my field say that they don't use the rudder. However, the plane does come with a rudder ready to be hinged so now I'm torn on whether to make it rigid somehow or go ahead and make it functional. Any opinions on this? The elimination of the weight from an extra servo/rod/control horn probably isn't going to matter but eliminating the possibility of flutter from the rudder is a bonus.

I permenately attached my rudder and it flew fine. occasionaly a slight fish tail action at low speed but barely noticeble. just make sure you dont use the ez connectors and do z bends for the pushrods instead.
