rcdemon,

I tried my Tracker II with a JR reciever, I had to change the PPM mod to + instead of -, but when I did it swapped the aileron (ch1) and throttle (ch3).

I aslo tried it with a Futaba reciever. It seemed to work fine except for the Flapperon function, which only had 1/2 as much travel to the left as it did to the right. The Flaps didn't work right either, they wanted to work like ailerons when I turned the knob. It may be possable to program the flaps to work properly but I didn't get that far into it.

The way the Flapperons worked I couldn't fly, and I couldn't fly with the aileron and throttle reversed either.

I have emailed Polk Hobbies about this, I hope I get quick response.

I liked the scanner part of the radio, and the programming seemed simple enough.

Rcdemon, thanks for your info on the flapperons that has me started, i seem to have the same problem as Wrecker 5. I have been using a MP2000 for about 10 years and had no problems setting that transmitter up. Any information you can send regarding Tracker II set up would be appreciated. If you would like to see some of my stuff go the the gallery, thanks xxspeed

We have not built in a buddy box for the Tracker II.

Neither the Tracker or Seeker will work with PCM, only FM.

Lewis, how about the travel on flapperons question? Could you send me the set up for a typical flapperons function. Thanks dave

We are looking into the flaperon set-up. It's a matter of correct percentages and we will come up with an advisory on this soon. In the mean time send me an e-mail at lewis@polkshobby.com, so we can reply. Also a phone number would help as each model has different requirements and we need to work with a few people to understand what they are doing.

You can e-mail me for an updated manual too, with some updates, though not for this setup.

Yours truly,
Lewis Polk

Thank you for the replies regarding buddy box compatibility. I am fairly new to RC and completely new to RC Aviation. I have some considerable buddy box time ahead of me. This has tipped the scales for me. It looks like I will be ordering an Eclipse w/Spectra for my first radio, as many of the flyers at the local club can help me with it. I have already received my SeekerII and will be using it with the Eclipse. Maybe my second Radio will be a Tracker.

Strato911, I hope your Tracker gets there soon. This thread must be torture for you.
Sounds like an excellent choice. The Tracker II is not the best choice for a first radio. Once you outgrow the Eclipse, there will probably be new options available. Maybe even a Tracker 2.1.

It's torture all right! When I ordered it, I thought I'd have it in plenty of time before flying weather got here. As it turns out, flying weather (above freezing) got here about 2 weeks ago. I'm "warming-up" with my Flightstar in the meantime.

...And wait, and wait, and wait, and wait some more... (I ordered it in October)

I have an idea - since work is preventing you from using yours, how's about sending it to me

I tried a 2 servo mix. I mixed ch1 and ch6 and it seemed to work fine, I could use this mix to get flapperons to work but I had to have a switch turned on to make them work.

To all Tracker II users!

We have a program change if you use "flaperons" in advanced glider usage and can upload the new software to your transmitter at our locoation. If you would like to have your tx upgraded, then send me your address for a UPS pickup.

All the best,
Lewis Polk

For those of us in the computer / electronics industries with access to chip programmers, is it possible to have the update sent to us electronically with instructions which chip needs reprogramming?
