Read today on Aero-News Network that the Red Baron Pizza Squadron is being disbanded. According to the article:

After 28 years of outstanding formation aerobatic air show performances, The Schwan Food Company has announced the retirement of the Red Baron Pizza Squadron.

"The Red Baron Squadron has been an incredible asset to our company and we are very proud of its long successful history," said Bill McCormack, executive vice president. "The retail grocery industry has experienced considerable change over the past few years. And, as a result, we have decided to refocus our Red Baron marketing program and to discontinue the Red Baron Squadron."

Too bad. In my opinion the Red Barons were one of the best show teams out there. Maybe another sponsor will pick them up.

I won a ride in one of their Stearman's once. Great pilots, and really friendly to talk to also. Their planes always looked like they came off the factory floor.

Too bad. I'm gonna miss 'em too.

Bob
