Yeh i did manage to get a run in today and had a little play with the pipe length. started out as long as it would go and pushed it in further and further each run until i was happy not sure on the exact measurement tho.
It was running prety good but it did get manage to suck in a bit of water through the corners a couple of times witch is really anoying.
luckily there were some kids swimming nearby who were quite keen to go retreive it for me lol (and ask 5 million questions).
I think i am going to hold off running it until my carbon fiber cowl arrives as i am sick of it stalling and i dont want to damage the engine.

Use the silicon for the water lines and the tygon for the fuel line to the carb. Photos below.

Glad you like my mono.

If you are interested I can burn you a CDROM with all the Video of our run days for you. Its got Johnos Gas rigger and a few types of boats. If interested then PM your address and I will post one to you ASAP.

Adrian, I am glad to hear that you have it all fixed and back on the water. I probably should've mentioned whilst you were builing the tub that you really need to put a layer of glass coth in the engine and tank bays just to give it a little more rigidity and to stop cracking etc through the tub. (but you know now anyway as you have encountered the problem and rectified it).

Another potential reason your tub cracked early in it's life could possibly be due to the fact you have the stuffing tube running through the hull at the intersection of the aft engine bay bulkhead and tub floor as opposed to running it through the radio box and out the floor in that compartment. Either way, good to see you have laid some cloth in the tub, that will help alot.

You will definately notice the difference with the new cowl when it arrives, a decent cowl makes the world of difference in consistent running.

I do have one major concern though, and I urge you to strongly consider the ramifications, please resist the urge or temptation (it is difficult I know) to run a boat anywhere near where people are swimming etc. I am sure you'll appreciate that it only takes one slight problem (from you or your boat) and your boat MAY go off into the distance and hit something, injure someone, or worse still KILL someone.

Admittedly I know this come across as harsh but you DID indicate that kids were swimming nearby, and the potential for serious personal injury is great enough in this hobby without adding risk by operating in such an environment. Picture a 10lb + boat hitting a person @ 60mph+, could you live with the consequences for the rest of your life??

That is a good point johno althought i did keep a fair distance from them it only takes a small malfunction to send the boat out of control.

Just a few pics of my IV bag setup. I have got a t peice in the fuel line between the bag and the carby with a bit of hose sticking up witch i use to refuel via a coke bottle with a pop rivet glued in the lid. It seemed to work alright just plug it in and squeze the fuel in then let it expand back out to suck the air out then just unplug the bottle and plug the filling hose.

I am currently building a FF rigger. I had troubles getting my plans printed like the rest of us. I called my local print shop and found they only print up to 36 inches wide. I used the delta cad program, cut and pasted the plans until they were 35 inches or so tall, and as long as it needed to be for everything to fit. I think its like 6 feet long now. They printed it off right in front of me, no problem and it was only 12 bucks, plus I got a second copy free beacuse there was a little blemish on it. I cut up one set of plans for patterns, then hung the other on the wall for reference.
What can I say, I thought it was a slick idea. Only took me a week or so of banging my head on the wall, printing a taping 90 pieces of paper together.
I have been taking pictures of my build, I think I want to start a thread as this is my first rigger and I have a bunch of questions. Ive found tons of good info so far, Id really like to get in touch with the guy from firefighter boats...Tom moorehouse I think? The guy from G force hydros too. or for that matter, anyone who has good experience building gas riggers.

Thanks a bunch in advance
