Status: offline 		My friend is has built a 42% plane two years ago and never finished it and now he is getting back into it. He has three duralight batterys that have sat on a shelf for two years. He has charged them and checked on the plane and they seemed to work. My question is, how safe are these batterys and should he replace them? Do they have a two year shelf life?

Typically lithium packs have a shelf life of 2 to 3 years depending on their use. Does your friend know what the voltage was in the packs prior to charging them?
If you could get him to fully charge the packs and record the voltage of each pack through the black lead and then apply a 1 amp load and once again record the voltage and let me know I can better advise you. You should see a fully charged voltage of around 8.4 volts without a load and a 1 amp load voltage of around 7.8 volts.
