Lookin good! I love the paint job.
My wife just agreed that if I could stop smoking for 8 weeks (NY just raised the tax on evry pack by $2.00) I could buy a trex 600 as a reward! Now all I have to do is make it 8 weeks.

Quit smoking.....LOL.

I quit exactly 16 days ago. I know exactly how much I would have spent on smokes and have every intention of spending it on helis. Am "saving" up for another one. I am thinking about a flybarless G550 with a modified frame.

I got my Eagle Tree in today! I'm having trouble with the mounting. The only place I can see to mount it is in between the skids on the front. I would have to leave my battery Y cable pluged in full time, its junst to hard to get it on and off the connector, would it hurt the esc if the batteries are connected one at a time? If so then I would have to rig up some kind of switch in the Y cable. Maybe a female deans in the + line with a male shorting plug to act as the switch. That would allow me to mount the canopy with the batteries connected. Anyone got Ideas and or pics of their setups with the eagle tree?
Thanks

Well I got everything hooked up. I mounted it above the front skid bracket on the CF plate with some db sided tape and a zip tie. I put a female dean connector in line with the positive feed on the batteries y cable and am using a male deans connector as the shorting plug. Now the Y cable will always stay connected to the eagle tree and I will pull the shorting plug before attaching the batteries (damn one more thing to try and remeber). I can unplug thew batteies without having to take the canopy off now but I'll still need to have it off to hook them up. I mounted the panel on the right side under the gyro ( just like on the Helifreak pics. ) I got in a quick hover and everything is working. This think is cool, I just wish I had ordered the RPM sensor! I'll tack it on to my next order.

Anyone know what gear ratio to put in for the stock pinion / main ??
Now if I could just strighten out my video camera mount

if you have a 14T pinion 19T OWB and the stock 42T primary and 61T main.. you have a gear ratio of 9.63
if you have a 14T 20T 42T 61T setup.. it's 9.15
if you have a 15T 19T 42T 61T setup.. it's 8.99
if you have a 15T 20T 42T 61T setup.. it's 8.54

let me know if you have a different setup and I can get the ratio for you as well...

got to this forum and download the headspeed caculator for the gaui550. The link is in the first post.
Works very well and is extremely handy for determining best pinions/gears when changing motors or head speeds.

These were taken tonight just after a series of thunderstorms moved out of our area. Our power went out so I figured why not head to the field to fly! Not great conditions for photos, but it was fun flying around out there after the storm.

that's the one I use... based on others comparing the head speed calc to actual head speeds shown by a tach... it's pretty close.. within 30rpm
