I have th esame canopy, its the only thing so far on the Heli I dont like. I'll upgrade to fiberglass the spring . I've gotten in a few more getting to know you hovers with mine. It still amazes me how stable this is comepaired to a 450. I saw a guy trying to trade a Hurricane 550 for a 450 because he though that the 450 would be easyer to fly I sent him an email telling him that it wasnt the case but I dont think he pulled his ad, man is he in for a shock

Either I haven't had enough sleep or there is a mistake in the manual for this. On page 7 top left it says to turn the belt 90 degrees clockwise when viewed from the front. If you do this that would make the tail rotor rotate clockwise when viewed from the right side. On page 6 bottom left it clearly indicates that the tail rotor should rotate counterclockwise, the same as the tail rotors do on my other six helis.

LOL, i was talking with that guy and almost made a deal with him but he decided to trade for a used 10 year old model and used 450 (unknown model) instead of my brand new 450se. oh well, considering you can buy what he's offering for $600 and my trex 450se cost me $700 i wasn't that interested anyway.

Dude is in for a shock on his 1st flight, If he thought the 550 was a handful he is gonna pee himself when he pulls that 450 into the air . He told me he wanted something he could fligh in his living room. I did try to warn him that even if he could hover the 550 (and he cant) he wouldnt be able to fly the 450 inside without some advanced skills. I hope he doesnt hurt himself or anyone else.

Whatever, the guy obviously got in over his head when he originally bought the 550 and now is trying to make up for that by trading for something smaller. The bigger heli's are intimidating so that's probably what has him wanting a smaller heli.

anyway, i still haven't found the time to put mine together, not really in a hurry since I can't fly it until the spring anyway so i'll just take my time and do it right.

I flew my hurricane last sunday. I had one of the heli guys at the field help me with setup and maiden it for me. Next thing I knew he handed me the transmitter and told me to fly. I hovered about head high for a couple minutes then put it back down safely. This was my first heli flight and much more fun than any airplane flight I can remember. I have to agree with all of you on selling the Hurri for a TREX. After feeling how stable this heli is compared to how twitchy a trex looks in capable hands I would say he made a mistake. Plus the hurricane is big enough it doesn't look like a toy. Has anyone used the canopies helidirect sells? Price isn't bad and they look nice.

Do any of you guys know where I can get some programming information on the Gaui 50A esc? I finally got it to work and got the motor to spin up but I'd like to know a little more about it. The manual I got with it has about two sentences and neither one of them really says anything.

yep, that's why i'm going to take my time and do it over a month or so. I've got the plastic head with my 550 but already bought the cnc one (was on sale) for a future upgrade. I'm going to take both completely apart, watch the finless videos on the 550 build and put it all back together right.

nice, thing with me is that since I already have the extra plastic head and want to upgrade the stock motor mount, bearing holders, cnc tail... etc, I might just buy the upgrades for my CF and cnc one and also buy the plastic body and parts to build a second completely stock plastic one.
