At today TEST and TUNE dragrace, my A123 cells reached 193F and they still charge fine. And these cells have been there before in the past year. AWESOME CELLS!!! Only the heatshrink melted at the plugs. I did it with a Rustler based dragster, running 7700kv and 4s1p. Cells where drained pretty quick, but EVERYBODY was impressed how they not "blow" up. Another guy blew his Brandname Lipo within a run.
Shows again that the A123 cells are Monsters.

Hey Brian, Can I have some more A123 Stickers for my car that I'm building?

How did they get to 193 degrees? Was this during multiple drag run in a row, or what?

Yes, multiples untill they dumped. Was a great sight to see. Motor got over 212 degrees, so that one is a gonner.

Well, this makes me feel better about my two 12s packs in my 1.50 size P51D. The motor drew 76 amps at full throttle and the packs came out almost too hot to handle. I've only got like 10 cycles on them but they still charge just fine.

Update on the packs.

One 2s1p pack still charges fine and the other 2s1p won't balance right anymore. I still heat them up to 130F and charge them right after that for the next run. Awesome cells to say the least.

Glad to hear that, the 12s pack in my P51 still perform like new and are the same cells I started with.
