Status: offline 		After searching every local hardware store for about two months, I finally found one that carries 2 1/2" square downspout. We have decided to rebuild this plane into a true Debonair, which should improve it's behavior tremendously. I will use the same wing, and just trim 6" off each end, and taper the ailerons. I'll re-use the horizontal and vertical stabs, and replace the whole coro/aluminum fuselage with a 40" PVC fuse. It should be a pretty quick rebuild. I'll also let Julie revise the trim scheme using the self-adhesive trim sheets and decals, instead of the colored packing tape.

Stay tuned.

I was so happy about finding the downspout that I bought 20' of it. Too bad I am done building SPADs for this year

Status: offline 		that plane should fly good the way it is but making as per plan will work also, did you make the wing longer than 5 ft? if it was six foot like mine, I made my fuse 42". a 46 la does pretty good with the 20 % larger plane. I hope your not done building spads for the year, gota keep on and push the envelope, try the demon, its a screemer with a ball bearing 46. enjoy

Status: offline 		It flew OK as originally built, but it was too floaty and the tail would twist a lot during rolls. If I cut the wing down from 72" to 60" and give it a PVC fuse, it should fly great.
