Status: offline 		Im building an CMP AT 6 Texan 160 size.ordered the retracts from seirra,still looking for G26 with mag.
I used two servos for the elevators iin the trail area nstead of the push rod that was supplied.
I think i will also use a servo for the rudder in the same location.

Going to try and finish a 1/4 nosen citabra that i have been working on for 5 years on & off
Maybe even get the 8 ft beaver glassed this year.
Look after the indoor Honey Do list so i can have time to play with the toys.

I only get to fly on weekends in winter. Gets dark too early during the week. Still working on the retirement at 92 plan.
So i build for the other 5 evenings in winter so i can fly them next year.

Status: offline 		I'm off to a good start on a scratch built Dynaflite Spitfire 80"ws, that I intend to do in the colors of RAF 66 squadron flown by Victoria BC native George Corbett who was killed in the Battle of Britain, and also on the bench is the 1/5 top flite P-51D arc that is being bashed into a A model to showcase the aircraft flown by Hollis Hills of RCAF 414 squadron, hope to have both finished for Gimli Model Fest in August. my page at http://www.sportrc.com/warbirds.html

Status: offline 		Hello; I don't want to belittle everyones efforts during this winter but, I have bought one of those indoor helicopters and am having lots of fun finetuning my piloting skills indoors. If I could drag myself out to my unheated shop, I would find 4 planes needing repair, a Mk mustang waiting patiently for me to get to, and a unionville otter that I managed to ignore all last winter.

Oh, by the way, we still fly twice a week here on the wet coast, although it has snowed a bit here lately.

Status: offline 		I built a Midwest Zero earlier this winter. Just fun-scale, but it'll be a good plane to practice with. I'm working on a TF Bearcat at the moment. Its a project a friend started ~'81 and then lost interest. I've had it kicking around for the past ~15 yrs and have decided to complete it (or die trying ). The wings were already glassed so I'm working on lightening the tail while improving scale appearance. Then I've got the bigger Unionville Norseman on floats which I started ~10-12 yrs ago and never completed. I built new floats earlier this year which are much more scale and am also replacing the slab tail with built-up to tighten, strenghten, and correct scale outline and profile. I hope to have both ready for paint by the time good weather arrives. If I manage to get these two ready before the winter is over I may start on a Brian Taylor Kingfisher, on float, or perhaps a Marutaka Stuka or Zero. Can't decide!

Status: offline 		I finished repairing my P51 PTS from a fall crash, and I am buillding a TF corsair. After I get done the corsair I will start on a vailly hurricane with the Patrica Bulldog colors.

Status: offline 		Well I myself am scatch building yet another 1/4 scale Fokker DVII as I lost the last one to a showoff touch and go for the camera in a stiff cross wind(ya I know DUMB).Looking over some colour sceams to do as I'm not ready for paint as I'm only half way through the build.I'm also going to try and finish off a couple that are not finished so I should have a good stable in the spring.

Ya but does it really matter between -29 and -38??? Below -30 is just plain unpleasent. Below -40 is unbearable

On the plus side there are NO mosquitos...

2 months to go....and then it will be soo hot the ESC's will be melting, the bugs biting and the sun shining!

I guess im pushing the season a bit,but i put floats on a 60 size ultra sport,it makes you think about WARMER weather,i hope soon.
its a bit on the heavy side but i hope it will fly.
Also waiting to get a G26 for the OK models AT6 texan,but it will have to warm up a bit so i can break in the engine in the garage before i install it in the airplane.

Status: offline 		Winter doesn't hold me back from flying. All you need is at least a few degrees above or below freezing, a calm day and a good little airplane on skis.

This was the first run of the winter on the summer compression and needle settings. This is why I'm tweaking for the first few flights. As a diesel, it's amazing that it would start at all. No big trick, just use an electric starter and don't overprime.

However; plans are underway for a Float Fly in June! - Details to follow!

Status: offline 		Winter is back! Thursday was plus 21 and Friday was zero and today is minus 8. Oh yeah there is now three inches of snow on the ground and not to really let up untill the 23rd. I thought I saw a blade of green grass the othe day but can't seem to find it today. Tired of WINTER!!

-45 is only the "wind chill". Stay out of the wind and it don't matter much.

However when the air temp hits -45 well that's different. Coldest I ever had to endure in Winterpeg was an OAT of -42. Naturally that froze the gas line to our house = no HEAT! THAT was not fun inside let alone outside. All I can say is I'm glad I have an inside job....now. Used to work outside in that crap and it isn't fun. If you exert yourself too much it does indeed hurt to breathe. Like a super freezie in your lungs

Why are we bringing this up in September? Can't we enjoy the last month of above freesing in peace and quiet.....

I've been in Chicago, Idaho, New York, etc in the winter and if it wasn't for the clouds ALL the time it wouldn't have been so bad.
Think I just stay down here and put up with the heat.
