Has anyone heard of this? 24" Remote Control Polaris Fusion Snowmobile

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it? Would it be worth buying and upgrading the electronics and converting to nitro?

Are there any track conversion kits for cars? I have a savage. I know they make the front skis, but do they make tracks for the back(similar to a tank, but designed for each rear wheel)? I know they make them for atv and 1:1 vehicles. Click here

I don't know about the track kits.

The Polaris sled is a toy, I would not spend more money trying to make it better, but thats me.

Some Nitro sled have been done before and you may still be able to get some but a few of them were a big dissapointment.

i think some one did a reveiw one time on how to convert the 1st sled in qustion to be able to use 540 motors esc and every thing. i think it was rc caraction.

for $100 i wouldnt buy one of those walmart sleds, they look cool but are far to slow to be fun.

iv bought a 17'' rc snowmobile off ebay($30 with shipping), should get it in 2-3 days now. i intend on puting a 15t speed gems and my traxxas xl5 and radio gear into it.
i hope it will be alittle faster than the conversion that this guy did, same idea though.

I've seen alot of people buying those cheap newbright sleds and throwing nitro engine's in them, and man are they wicked, they should be put into production! Heres a converted one

I've been looking for a while for one, looks like modding a newbright is the best bet unless you want to go totally custom. I know a few guys who have bought those cheap electric ones, but Im from east central alberta, and it gets too cold here for electronics in teh winter, batteries die within a few short minutes. doesnt get above 5 *F till spring, down to -40 a lot of days [:(]

I bought a New Bright planning to mod it, but it was pretty obvious once I got it that a nitro or FE conversion is a serious undertaking. If you follow some of the threads here in the Unusual RC forum you'll see that virtually every component of the sled needs to be swapped out or beefed up for it to *sort of* handle the extra power. These things are made to go 5mph, not 50. The front suspension is soft plastic, the struts and springs are for appearance only, the track suspension geometry's not right, and none of the transmission components can handle a bigger motor. And even if you replace all of the suspension and drive components you're still running an ABS plastic sled. I welcome MNKay, Fastorange and the others who've actually taken a serious run at modding the New Bright to throw in their own 2 cents here -- they may completely disagree.

All of that said, I'm still convinced the New Bright is a better modding platform than the Walmart and Radioshack toys. There's more room under the cowl and seat, and there's lots of info in this forum on what works and what doesn't.

I've never looked at an Art Attack sled up close, but at least it was designed with nitro in mind. For performance it might be the best off-the-shelf choice.

It would be great if Jordan Krupp's REV went into production, but at this point it remains a one-of we can only drool over.

I just ordered a Polaris 900 and a Ski-Doo mxz.
Within the next month I'll log the amp draw of a 540 brushless setup. I'm going to use an MM 4600 and I'm guessing the amp draws going to be low on 3S?
What do you think a 430 brushless motor would do?

That appears to be a Artattack sled. I'm building one up right now....just unsure of whether I want to go electric or nitro.

nope, tis is not an artattack, this should be an old atomic. the attack is lokking similarly but is much younger.
the atomic is quite 20 years old and the company doesn´t exist anymore
the arattack came later, maybe 5 jears ago.

but...
i have never seen an artattack, running like this!
i did nearly all, to get a traction like in this vid, but no way!
the atomic has a total different track and track pulley.

Your right.. except the skid frame looks to be Artattack and maybe the tunnel also.Seat ,hood and belly pan are probably Atomic.

The track and track drive is everything..but even then if you watch close when its turning in deep snow you can see it slow down and start to throw a rooster tail .

The Artattack needs a lot of work to run like that machine

Hey guys, couldn't help but read down through the posts on the snowmobile info. I have been running RC sleds for about 6 years now. Latest addition is a highly modified Artattack I made into a 1000 T-Cat. I took out the origional motor I installed and now running a Big bore Ofna .26c.i.. This monster screams. If anyone has questions feel free to ask. BTW I ran this in Gaylord last weekend at the radar runs and got a 47mph top end. I wore the tires off my homemade asphalt skis and now need to make new for the spring.

i got a buddy who has the arctic cat version of that electric "walmart" sled. he works at arctic cat here in thief river falls, mn. we are working on putting a nitro motor in it. his is a 1/8 scale. we think we might be able to fit a .28 in it. he has the guys in the fabrication shop making the tunnel and belly pan and some suspension for it. some of the guys in arctic cats office love the idea. maybe this might be the start of something. we will put pics up once we have all the custom work done. after we get this one done we want to build a bigger one. maybe a 1/4 scale with a bigger engine.

I have an Australian shephard that get's great excersise form my Lil' T-Cat

I'm surprise at how very few RC Nitro sleds are out there. I too am thinking of a bigger version using a chainsaw engine possibly 1/3 scale

ha ha, I did the same thing for a few years, my sled took backseat to some airplanes but after reading some other posts, I decided this lil' guy needs to come out and play. So with a little effort I turned it into
a "Mini-Me T-Cat! If your interested in selling yours, let me know. I would be interested. I have another .25 Ofna looking for a nest! I have never done a boat and now am thinking doing something real wild.

I also wanna put a nitro motor into my fusion rc sled..the suspension in it is pretty good but will need a better rear spring(more stiff)..any ideas?tutorials? plz i need them!!![:D]Just send a pm to me if u find a tread or sumtin for me ! thnx guys......I would get a art attack sled but way too pricey...i would buy one but like for only at the highest 70$$$....

Save your money .....forget the fusion. Artattacks were selling for $75.00 US on Ebays a while back. Might have to wait till next fall now
