It was intended to be used on a B-36 which incidentally would make an awesome PSS, or powered model.

It doesn't look like too much progress ...but sanded the fuselage after having applied putty (and hopefully filled all scratches and holes), made the cutouts for the "diagonal rudders", and made a first attempt of a cabin, I need to find a bigger bottle with no grooves on it. I have little time to work on it unfortunately, I will let you know when there's more done . byee

Flite Metal is too heavy for a (presumably) PSS model, but I will surely use chrome monokote , I just hate the fact that I will have to be very careful to apply it otherwise I would melt the foam .

I knew it was but a matter of time and one of these would appear on my radar. It
really looks nice. You are correct in that without skinning or at a minimum glassing
your surface it would not be a proper Flite-Metal covering candidate...not the weight
of Flite-Metal, but the all up weight with a hardened surface. At the size it is, your in
for a treat when it flies well.

Here's a more detailed look at the plane through Fiddler's Green who won't be hurt
this post at all... ; )

Keep the photos coming in : )

I will. Thanks for the "tips" Ed, a friend of mine is building his first warbird, a TF P-51 1:5 scale and used Flite-Metal, it looks awesome and considering its his fist one its even more impressive.
Returning to mine, in fact I'm a bit concerned, even though it is glued together and it will be ironed I have the impression that it probably will fall into pieces if I only slightly bump it to the ground, I dont know if I should glass at least the bottom a bit. No worries by the end of next month I should have some more done, but first I will try to redo the cabin. Thanks for the interest.

ps: I love the GOb, but I have to say its the kind of plane you either like very much or dislike very much . Hopefully it flies after all, though the fact of being PSS makes it rather more difficult, if it doesn't fly to well and survives the maiden I may electrify it with a DF, we'll see. byee

Where have things progressed to on your Goblin? I can imagine building a dolly and 1/3 hot wired,
skinned and FM'd one with a small turbine would be interesting... : )

Its Eastern holidays right now here in Spain, I thought I could dedicate the little Gob some time but unfortunately it stays the same, I didn't even have time to see it and give it a good-night kiss . Precisely because of my shortage of time I ordered the wing to be done by a friend, so at least I will save some time on that, once the wing arrives theres not much more to be done on the fuse (though I will probably end up glassing at least the bottom of it), then I will start ironing which will take me some time since I would like to make some sort of rivets. We will see.. Thanks anyway for your interest, no worries I will keep you updated as soon as I have some more done. Byeee

I'm beginning to believe "All Hallows Eve" will be here before we see another Goblin

What format were your templates in? Would you be willing to give up a set of them?

Hi,
No time to work on it yet but I will surely finish it in July (hopefully). The plans were drawn in Autocad 2006 in dwg format. First of all I have to finish the plane and see if it flies ok, then I will consider if publishing the plans or not, lots of work in it ).

I went this weekend home after ages and was able to work a bit on the elevator. The good news is that in 2 weeks or so I will bring the bird with me and I will be able to continue with him in my spare time (hopefully), so here's the bit I made. Byee
