Hey thanks for the compliments. Nice plane, you will be able to see that sucker from a mile away. I'm doing mine in Metal Flake Red and Jet white. I do the bottoms of all my planes in white-that way i always know which way the plane is flying no matter what i take up. I have 13 in all ready to go and i do fly them all. My wife just got me the little Sig Something Extra for Christmas. A guy at our small club has one and it looks like a VERY fun plane to fly. I'm going to start it about Mid Jan..

I did my wing bottom in 8 in dark blue and white checkers , really stands out. Most the time I use 3 or 4 inch black and white stripes.

The biggest problem with leaving it all orange , it tends to turn to a black silhouette under certain conditions, I have`nt flown the .60 yet , but my .40 is orange also lol. It has a Saito .56 in it. Wnated to go with a Saito 1.00 in the .60, but have to many projects going for the amount of funds. I had the ST.90 so what the heck.

Thats why I do white bottom and diffrent top, white just never seems to turn a different color-Just stays white. That Saito would have been sweet, but the 90 is going to be a great engine for the plane -good luck

Frenchie. I'd like to ask a question about that engine mounting. Did you have to add any weight to the left side to balance that engine? Also did you lower the tank to be in line with the carb? I'm getting ready to mount my engine(also with the cowl) and that's alot of engine hanging there. Would like to go inverted but I hear to many negatives so I'm opting not too. Not really any other choices on how mount with the cowl. Thanks

I had to add about a 1/2 OZ to the left wing end rib, not sure the exact amount because I cut the lead a little at a time and never weighed it after. I did lower the tank, you can see two 1/8" or 1/4" rails I installed in one of the pictures that show the finished tank area. Covering the plane right now.

Straubman, I have friend also who have problems with inverted engines, never done one, thats why I went to the side. I know many will argue this but MFG's have come out with products that help fix the problem-SO their must be one. Have a Sig Mayhem that I will be putting together (B-arf) that calls out for inverted. I'm really struggling with what to do? Looks better but i don't want ANY issues, you know what i mean.

Insane

Are you going to epoxy seal your firewall and cheeks or did you use some other method? Nice looking plane.

It does`nt seem to show up . but I covered the firewall and cheecks with 30 min epoxy not thinned , then I use a heat gun to smooth it out.
For inside the tank and radio area I use Lustercoats flat clear The pics are`nt showing it , but it has been fuel proofed every where but the tail.lol

After getting the balance right on the front of the spar I locked in the servo tray but left the battery/receiver tray movable for fine tuning. Covering the tail section will add additional weight and move the CG to mid spar area. I'll finish that balance after it is covered with the Battery tray. Hopefully!

Well I started covering so I thought i would post a few shots to finish this build thread. As I said earlier, I will keep the covering job simple. Easy to clean and repair and hpoefully last a long time. I completed the wing first the moved to the tail and will move my way up.
