Hello,

I am looking to buy a new 75cc plane for a DA 85 I will be getting for christmas.

I would like to know if you have plans for a 75cc Yak any time soon? I love the quality of the QQ airframes but want something a little larger than a 50 and don't want to go to a 100cc due to storage/transport issues.

You can put the 85 in their 102" Yak and have plenty of power. You would have to forgo smoke, go with one 9156 or 8711 on the rudder, and a lightweight battery system, but it has been done with success. I have the 85 in a QB 75cc 260. It is a great combo, but unless you are a power-to-weight freak (like me), putting the 85 in a 21 pound plane is practically ridiculous! I have seen the 85 on a standard pitts muffler pull 25.5 pound planes around with authority, which is about where you would end up at on the QQ. So if you are in the market for a QQ Yak, buy their 102!!! You will have a lightweight performer on your hands!

For the record....my 85 will make 37lbs 4ozs of thrust with 26x10 NX prop. Thrust is measured on my super accurate digital fish scale. I have it on a 23lb 4oz TOC (SD) Yak. Flys it very nice...when I can keep it running.

My guess is the QQ Yak would be a little heavier but would still fly very nice.

Thanks
Barry
