But if it was me, I would leave the pilot and passanger for flight and ensure they each had a silk scarf to help keep warm.

Are they Ping Pong balls are dressed up ?

Status: offline 		The people came in the kit. They were some kind of turned wood. Heavy for they're size. I'm sure the plane would fly with them, but I was trying to save weight in hopes of better loops. I fly the plane on 42' braided spiderwire lines. I tried 35' first, but the lap times were way to fast for me. Loops are better on the longer lines also. More room for maneuvering I guess.

Status: offline 		Currently I'm using spiderwire stealth braided. Without running out and checking the package, I believe its 20lb test/8lb diameter.

Status: offline 		Bear in mind that the Golden Hawk is a Musciano designed sheet wing hollow log. The only parts that need paint are balsa. I used rustoleum brushed on -- not the rattle can kind. Rustoleum is good paint but heavy so you have to be careful to not over do it. It also needs to cure for around two weeks before it comes in contact with glow fuel. Some people use dope or dope and tissue for a slicker finish. I suppose monocoat or similar would do well but I personally have no experience with it.

May I suggest "Micafilm" it is currently available in only two colors, translucent red and yellow. Micaflim is 1/2 the weight of Monocoat, and you need to paint the surface you are going to stick it too with "Balsarite", as Micafilm as no adhesive on it. I try to keep the weight of my 1/2 A "stuff" as low as possible. The Micafilm is very strong, and has a little of the look of "Silk Span".

Also great info about the control lines you are using, I'm still working off my VERY old 42' "Pylon" #8 wires. I was wondering what I would use next.

Steel cables of .008x42' are still available. They can be purchased through SIG, Brodak, or any of the online hobby shops that carry CL stuff. Have you tried your LHS?

Many who fly the more powerful modern 1/2A engines prefer .012x42' lines.

Status: offline 		I am still waiting on my Scientific log plans from Walt Musciano. He is currently putting the finishing touches to his Corsair book so I need to be patient. He was kind enough to send me a postcard informing he had to finish the book first, very obliging of the man.
