Hey guys,

I was cruising the pylon forums the other day and I found a very cool laser cut flight box kit that was very compact and came with a clear acrylic handle. Of course I didn't bookmark it and now I can't find the link.

Anyone out there have an idea where I might have seen it? I went through all of the links in the Speed Secrets thread and no dice.

Thanks in advance,

Chris Attebery

It wasn't that one. It had a much lower handle. It was also painted up really nice, way too nice for a starter box.

Thanks though,

Chris

Here is the thread:

Super T RC was the distributor, not sure if they are still selling them, I don't see it listed on their website.

Dave got it!

From the looks of it all of you guys use the NiCd batteries on your starter. I still use a lead acid with my Dynatron. I don't know if it would in that box, but I sure like the layout.

I'll have to study the pictures a bit more and see if I can figure out how to make it fit.

Thanks,

Chris

We are still selling the super T box, but we are currently out of stock. They are due end of Jan.

The box originally was designed around a gell cell, therefore it should fit. IF you dimensions of your battery perhaps someone could measure theirs and let you know forsure.

There is a space under the handle for a gell cell, I can measure it tonight if you want.

Hey Dave,

The battery is 5.9"x2.5"x3.6". How deep is that section o the box? Could I get a cover over battery? I knew a guy that lost his entire fleet of boats due to a shorted starter battery.

I actually drew up a set of plans for a box the other night. I swapped the positions of the gel cell and the tool tray so the box would be fairly balanced. My Dynatron with a Speedmaster starter handle weighs almost exactly the same as the gel cell. Getting the new start box done is down on my list of round tuits right now, so Dan might get them in stock before I cut the wood.

Thanks,

Chris

That battery may be a little tight, unless it was laid on its side (2 1/2" high)

The way the box is designed, there are two seperators on the center section just under the handle that gives you a space of roughly 3 3/8" high, 1 1/2" wide, and 4 1/2" long (the length of the handle).

The complete center section under the handle is 3 3/8" high, 7 3/4" wide, and 4 1/2" long. You could make a couple walls outside of the battery and enclose if you wanted too.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the measurements. I'll chew on it for a while before I decide which route to go.
