Ok guys I'm thinking of getting a new truggy, i have the muggy, and i had/ i sold it a kyosho Inferno 777 ST-R.. the muggy has taken allot the kyosho was my baby and i did not really ran it that much mostly sat and collected dust, but I'm wanting a new truggy, I'm mostly a basher, and i do race sometimes, and if i like this truggy I'm gonna pick up racing more, but for now its a basher, i got the motor and radio for it, and all i need is the truggy, and a steering servo. is there anything i else may need?

i know some of you know I'm a kyosho fan boy, but i want something that's gonna fly and bash like my old kyosho, or better at that, and form what i have seen its one sick truggy, and pretty much fell in love with it.

i got the dx2.0 radio for it, and a old jr digital servo that's rated at 200oz for throttle, i need a steering one still.

motor: picco p3 .28 i only got about 680 or so....

my only questions are, whats a good setup for bashing, and short track racing?

i know its unheard of bashing a competitive truggy but that's what i like.

any 300oz servo should be fine for steering. I'm not sure if you're going to find a setup for bashing for an XT8 since just about everyone that has it is a racer. I know the truck is track tuff, but not sure if it's going to handle 80 x cartwheels from trying to jump over the dumpster.

I would never bash my XT8.........

I also would not even think of running a rotostart engine in it. Get a sportsman truggy if you want to run a rotostart engine and bash. IMO of course.

But once again it is not mine but your. If you do get you will enjoy it a lot.. Ask miamifinest in here he ran it tonight at the track and he like it a lot... NO BASHING it's a RACING MACHINE and also a work of art...

you don't..............oops

i know its for racing, and such, but why can't it bash, is there a law or a rule saying its forbidden to bash a xray lol?

well this might take a slight curve, in that i'm liking the crt .5, but i can't find the .12 or .15 picco's.

i dunno, i loved the muggy, but its not a real racer, yes i know 2d u proved it can be, but after running the xray you would never look at the muggy the same way after owning ur xray would you? i know what its like to have a high end truggy, my kyosho was my baby, and that's when i raced a lot, but, i got into bigger things and put it away, and now i'm looking to pick something up, i was looking at a mugen, but that's worse i think for bashing then the xray, then there's the 8ight, or the cen. etc..... i'm liking the kyosho, but for some reason the xray just i dunno, something about it, but my track is small, its for 1/10th st bx, electric nitro, but they run the mt class, and the revo owns, and then the 8th scale buggies do fine but the truggy guys are held back cause its so tight, when i had the muggy out there stock, just one lap it was bogging down and it only cleared up on the straights. the kyosho only raced on the track when it was truggy season then it was stretched out a tiny bit not much, i would have to the its only 80x40 the track, its tight here look for yourself.
http://www.orccc.org/ and then this is the other track that's a bit closer to me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PWkxT7qyoU they just put doubles in the middle. but as u can see there bothy tiny tracks, there not true 1/8th tracks, that's why I'm starting to look at the crt, or kyosho new rtr cause there alot smaller. but i still have soemthign for the xray i dunno, but there jsut somethign there.

If you got the right deal, and you want one anyway, I say just go ahead and get the X-Ray.. It's not like god will you strike you down or anything...

Only thing is replacement parts - are they as available and affordable for the X-ray as for others??..

The CEN is supposed to be tough, lots of people say the CRT is a tank - which people still have a lot of success with racing, the 8T is cool, etc... etc..

And then there's the ST-1 Pro - it's like €380 at Amain.. That's prob your best bet. That, plus the extended wing-mount and new wing, a Hitec 5955, and you've got a great ride, and well under budget.. Just got an e-mail from Amain with the new discount codes too... $25 off orders over $250....

ps And oh yeah, the ST-1 has THE dream-advantage for bashers - you can whack a 2-speed in it!!.....

That with the Picco and you've got something to play with...:

(ps To be honest, I kind of wish that's what I'd gone with..... Why?? Because the ST-1 is supposed to be such a good basher....)

i don't get it, i hear all the x ray fan boy's saying how tough the XT8 is, but then they come on here and say to buy something cheaper and lower quality, and therefore weaker to bash with, if it's so tough, what the hells the problem?

as for the kyosho, it's what, around $700? i'd think it's outa the question price wise, up to python.

the XT8 will make a fine basher, everywhere i go, hobby shops, online and guys i happen to run into are all for the x rays no matter what it is, strength is a big standout so it's a fair bet it's going to live after the beating i'm sure you'll give it, seeing your muggy..

If you want to get one to bash with more power to ya. The more X-Ray stuff on here the better.

I bash with mine, just a quick question - what is the difference between bashing and racing?

I think bashing would be less damaging than racing.

Can't say I have ever broken anything on my XB8, and the snow has stopped me from breaking in my XT8.

All I know is that if I was buying a truggy that was going to be primarily bashed it would need to come with big bore shocks. I own and race the Xray and love it but I redo my shocks almost every race day, bashers usually are not into that type of thing. There are truggies that are cheaper that are built better for bashing.

You should be able to set up a Xray to bash well for less than $1200 or so.

At any rate you should buy what you want.

ttoks it is not thats weaker to bash with. The XT8 can bash all you want but why would you bash with a RC thats so high in craftmenship. When you race one does not do 30 ft jumps and back flips and stuff like that. THe XT8 can take hit and a lot but if there is other RC less expensive to bash with. The problems is cost if you bash with the XT8 and break somthing every time you bash the cost will be up there I am talking bash like you want to break it and what 2D said about the Corvette is right but hey it is your money you do what ever you want..

Just remember have fun because thats what this hobby is all about what ever you buy..

i primely bash my 8ight T RTR, one broken part in 3 months, now if the Xray is even half as strong as it's made out to be it will do just as well, if anything you could go larger shocks off of another truggy (assuming you could find a set that fit's)

as i see it though it just don't see why something of such good craftsmanship should be reserved for only racing, the x rays are a great brand, some of the best quality vehicles out there, so why not? it might cost more it replace broken parts but i'm willing to bet your not going to break nealy as many parts assuming you've learned air control and don't nose dive every jump.

if not a CRT, you can get big bores for them as a factory hop up, and the 8ight T comes with larger shocks then most truggies.
