You need to figure out which model engine you have as the first step. The Surpass I and Surpass II are similar, but the in, out, and return connections are different. The Surpass I has three nipples that come out of the rear cover. The Surpass II has two straight nipples, and the one nearest the bottom which turns upward at a 90* angle. When looking at the rear of the engine, with the cylinder in an upright position, the fuel nipple at 2 o'clock is the inlet on both versions. The nipple at 5 o'clock is the return on the Surpass I, and it is the outlet (goes to the carb) on the Surpass II. I suggest you get a copy of the manual.
