Status: offline 		I am in way over my head on this one, but am determined to get it togeather.
Background info:
Purchased three years ago from a guy who purchased it from the guy who purchased it originally somewhere around 1996. It is fiberglass fuse with bulsa covered foam wings (glassed).
33% scale Sukhio SU-31, 108".
Quadra-Aerrow RSS 200 Twin.

My first question: The leading edge of the wing is perpendicular to the thrust line. the trailing edge is swept forward, fuse to tip. Aileron is parrallel to trailing edge. Should the control linkage for the ailerons run parrallel to the thrust line or be perpendicular to the aileron?
Second question: Instead of having control horns on the rudder for pull-pull, there are eyelets in the leading edge of the rudder for the pull-pull cable about 1 1/4" off each side of the centerline. It looks clean, not having the horns stick out and the cables running thru the side of the plane, but it only gives a spread of about 2 1/2" on the rudder end of the cables. Is this setup OK?

Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

First...think HINGE line. Next, you want your pushrod and hinge line to form a 90 degree angle at full deflection. At neutral... the pushrod will be slightly offset. Many people set up with the pushrod/hinge line( 90 degree angle) when the servo is at neutral. But at full deflection the pushrod is angled. Think about it. It makes sense to have the pushrod straight when the control surfaces are at their maximum pressure points in the air stream. (Max deflection )

Your servo bays on the wing will be angled to match your hinge line. All you have to do is move your control horn to achieve the 90 degree angle that I mentioned...at FULL deflection.

Not sure about the eyelets on the rudder? Where do the pull/pull cables exit from? Again ...think leverage. There will be a whole lot of pressure on the rudder of a 33% anything....ESPECIALLY an aerobat!
The farther out the control horns...the greater the leverage. You are going to use a Bellcrank on it ....right? Remember....setting up a Giant scale is more difficult than flying one. Quality parts.....you don't skimp.....it ain't a .40 sized Sukhoi.

Status: offline 		I re-did the servo pockets so that the servos lay flat in the pocket instead of dropping in, so the control rods are 90% to the hinge line in all positions.
The plane was set up for one giant servo for the rudder, but I changed this also, and put in a twin servo tray with bellcrank and used 2 DS8611A servos. The pull-pull cables exit thru the tail of the fuse rather than exiting thru the side of the plane.
I used two DS8711's on each aileron and one on each elevator half. (The 8611A's were purchased and installed just before the 8711's came on the market)
