I am seeing more and more video's lately that look like this one. A very tall and narrow image. Mostly just all black on both sides. What's the deal with that?

ya that's taken from my I phone ....it's not the quality of a good video cam...my settings could be off as well ....I was excited the engine started! caught by surprise did not have my video cam with me...will have it next  time ...going to balance and fly the t-28 next time ...hopefully have better video evidence!

i think im going to have to buy a new one as the black covers and cylinder fins took great together with the polished front housing. Also mine seems down on performance, due i expect to a pair of pots being weak on compression. also i cant match those idle numbers. Since mine lunched itself its not quite had the same performance, i could replace all the rings and stuff but i dont think its worth it, i will just buy a new one if i have to! tell you what though that keleo ring sounds nice, they have them on sale here for £100, i might pick one up as im tired of the goo all over my model!

i have a pic of the engine here...yes I bought it from Hobby King...i have a few of the asp engines and they have worked well...
I have read through the thread with Knot rebuilding the engine and saw all 5 parts  of the  videos ....I liked the sound and look of the engine...I am hoping the people at ASP read the same threads and videos!
I hope the engine is as good on the inside as it appears on the outside...time will tell....very happy so far!
It is not quite as shinny as Knots but pretty good for being right out of the box!

wherewaldo, I am still a bit confused by your 20x10 3 blade prop selection. I thought the recommended size was 20x10 2 blade so a 3blade should go down to a 18ish x 10 ? Sorry if you covered this already, but I want a 3 blade & since those are quite expensive, I don't want to order a wrong size

Thanks, V.

my choice was made when i was going to use a 55dle gas engine ...I bought a couple 3 blade props for that engine ...I decided to buy  the asp 400 for this particular plane instead, having a cowl that would house the radial  (t28 trogan ...) this engine outer limits for a  prop  should be a 22*8 two blade as recommended....this plane is a tricycle gear and the 22*8 would not clear the ground ...i added about 1/2 in to the front landing gear to have a little extra clearance ...the 20*10 clears the ground by about 1.5 in...not very much!..but I chose this prop on the manufactures advice...but the engine sure has more than enough power to spin this prop...I will let you know how it performs in the air

The new version looks nice with the black rocker boxes and tumble polished nose. It makes the Sanye radial look more like the O.S. version now. I wonder if there are any internal changes?

Waldo, I already answered this above in Post # 734. Click on the link and read the whole post.

At 2:10 of this video, the new version radial is shown:

quick question, when your engines are hot, ie just after you stop it how is the compression? i ask because my static compression on 3 of the 5 pots is pretty good, but when hot they are all pretty useless.
