you actually went faster by removing the pull start?
nothing to do with the few oz's you took off by removing the p.s. but from something else?

I stated that the removal of the pullstarter wieght helped in speed! The friction or restriction of the removal of the one way bearing also boosted rpm!

Every ounce you can remove helps...Then to be able to remove the one way bearing on the engine shaft lifted a lot of restriction to the RPM's

hoodiegadoo, thanks. I didn't really think it would work, was just hoping. These blisters on my hand are really starting to hurt. I guess I'll just have to wait for the electric starter that HPI is supposedly coming out with in May.
