Here is something your going to want for your Avalanch [:D]

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/5/2008 1:16 AM)

yes, wanted, lol

post the link!!!!

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/5/2008 9:54 AM)

An automatic tuner would be nice too. Maybe fuel injection in place of the carb.

rclynx -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/5/2008 10:29 PM)

This Exhaust for the Avalanche can be found HERE

twomanytoys -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/6/2008 12:33 AM)

That looks pretty cool but for $70?[X(]

Chubbysdad -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/6/2008 3:40 AM)

I guess its "you get what you pay for" correct John? lol

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/6/2008 7:11 AM)

Ok, I've broken in my Avalanche which wasn't that hard once I figured out the tuning. I'm actually having more trouble with the transmitter. I downloaded the manual but it reads like a bad translation. How do I get it in reverse? I'm new to these rc cars. I have the lcd fm, and I set it up to match the 'ordinary settings' in the manual. From what I understand you just push, instead of pull the trigger, but all it does is apply brake. Is there another setting I need to adjust or is there a switch I must engage before it will go into reverse? I've seen some with a toggle to maneuver it into reverse.

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/6/2008 7:13 AM)

there is no reverse in the avalanche

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/7/2008 6:11 AM)

No reverse, well I'll just have to try not to steer myself into trouble.

I had another thought about the fuel tank and wanted to get some opinions. Swapping for a larger tank might be difficult but what about adding a second tank? There's room in the front if it's mounted sideways. I'm not sure how the engine and carb would respond though with the added volume. Y-fittings could be placed on each line to run the tanks in parallel. This should pull fuel from both at the same time. I haven't timed my run times but during break in I was getting under ten minutes.

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/7/2008 6:16 AM)

you will get more run time once you tune, your running rich during break in.

twomanytoys -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/7/2008 6:16 AM)

Your run times will increase once broken in and tuned properly because you are running real rich.

twomanytoys -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/7/2008 6:17 AM)

Damn ehroof you beat me too it by like a few seconds.

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/7/2008 6:19 AM)

lmao, beat ya

Lot less than you would pay for a tsais system complete [:-]

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/8/2008 4:35 AM)

What's the easiest way to reassemble the pull starter? My cord became stuck so I removed it from engine and the spring came undone before I could hold it in place. My hands aren't very coordinated to wind the spring back, but I'll keep trying, maybe I'll get lucky. I see it's going to be hard once I get it wound up to place it back in the case without it coming apart again.

Also, is there another way to start the avalanche other than pull starter?

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/8/2008 4:36 AM)

starter box or roto start backplate.

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/8/2008 5:05 AM)

I'm thinking about going with the roto start. What backplate and gun is recommended for the Avalanche?

Tom W78 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/9/2008 3:00 AM)

Will the CEN Roto Start work on the Avalanche? I've been trying to find one but haven't had much luck. I can't find the one on the redcat site. Unless it's the one for .27 P/N 70111j? I checked with RUfaster but I haven't heard back. Also, with the backplate, you don't need the pull starter any more right? The backplate mounts in place of the pullstarter? Because there's no way I can get the spring back into the case. It's going into the waste bin.

ehroof -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/9/2008 3:19 AM)

email clermont, clermonthobby@embarqmail.com, he carries the cen and i am pretty sure its a direct fit, or he will have ths redcat one.

Redharris -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/9/2008 9:49 AM)

tell me which one u like more. how fast is your monsoon???

twomanytoys -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/10/2008 2:07 AM)

Both the avalanche and monsoon are very fast. The monsoon is geared a little too low so it tops out fast but has tons of bottom end. I really like the avalanche because its kinda the best of both. Its monster truck quality with truggy handling. It really does handle better than ANY monster truck you put next to it and Im not kidding.

kael040 -> RE: "OFFICIAL" Redcat Avalanche thread (2/10/2008 5:17 AM)

so i jsut got my new rim and im wondering how u remove the tire from the old one. do u just pull or is there some kind of material im supposed to use?
