Status: offline 		I need some help deciding between the upgraded 4ch catalina http://www.nitroplanes.com/4chcawdubrpo.html and the ArtTech Coota Amphibian http://www.nitroplanes.com/at-21104-coota.html
I'm not horribly concerned about their quality, just something to fly without going to our field, but if anyone knows how they fly or about their quality input would be much appreciated!

That's like apples and oranges! How does one make a decision like that?

The Cat could be a pest because it's a twin? The pusher model is "out of stock!"

The pusher is cute, has only one engine to fool with and it does look like a Lake LA-4 200.

Costs a bit more, but how long before they are available?

The Cat is a Warbird, that alone counts for something, plus it's nicly colored.

I didn't read all the ad text. Which one comes with wheels? That could tip the scale.

Know anyone that has either model?

Status: offline 		HI thereI'm no expert, but what I do is put a bead of silicone around the complete wing saddle, then lay wax paper over it keeping all wrinkles out of the wax paper. Then mount the wing and let it set over night. Remove the wing, peel off the wax paper and you have a nice water tight seal. Works great for me. Hope this helps.

Status: offline 		 I have a great planes big stick fourty that i am rebuilding after a major crash and was thinking about putting it on floats. Is this a good idea and if so what kind would you recomend?

Been doing this for 30 years. Works great. I started to do this to keep the glow oil out. Works great for water also. Good advise.

A "hard" or "sharp" corner between the bottom and side surfaces of the hull make the water unstick the float surface and improve the planning properties of the float. I guess pronounced "chines" on plastic moldet floats are there to compensate for a corner with a to large radius.
