Wow. RTR goliaths would be pretty cool, but for the money, you could get a MGT 4.6

Not sure why anyone would want it rtr....it is a blast to build. Also you get what they give you for motor, servo, rx/tx....etc. I would say get the kit and be much happier with your purchase. I bought 2 of them and they both were fun to build. I had both versions and they were worth every penny.

PS...for that money he can get what he wants. Why would anyone who is looking for a electric crawler want a MGT? Kevin

firts off i thought everone knew about tower's priceing there is a 90% propabilaty that it will be way less than that
examples the revo 3.3 was listed at $990 before it came in same with the rc18t was $279

so it will go down in price

second idont want a rock crawler i want a good solid axil MT

and a mgt is not a solid axle mt
they look nice
but i would get the kit for one major reason

if something breaks you know what to do
you know how it works

and its just plain fun

The only problem I see with the Goliath is the servo sticking out for a mile infront of the truck, wouldn't that pose clearance issues??? other than that, it looks AWESOME

Nope...no clearance issuses and I crawler all over sdome of the hardest terrain...the black rocks of Lake superior....what a blast. They are even more fun once you convert a 3ch TQ traxxas radio so you can crab walk and such. I know none of these features help a mt but had to mention them. Kevin

I meant the MT version, not the crawler, since Dave Gribble did a review on it, floating around somewhre, sounds fun though , I do have to say, crawling with my 18MT is shure fun, but a true crawler sounds AWESOME

Well if your a hobby guy instead of a RTR guy then you'd know that all that stuff is stuff you do when you build it anyway. Being a person who got into r/c when alll there was, was kits I enjoy it. It is no fun without 2 servo's when trying to scale something tactical. As far as steering geometry...you can toss thier set up out the window and have a 6 year old come up with a better set up. I made both of mine bullet proof and no bump steering. It was a very easy fix and was well worth the time put into it. Kevin

P.S. The MT is not a racing truck or even close.....more of a crawler than anything. Just a FYI.

I am a PTI fan. I am a MFG Engineer by trade and I offered to help them workout some issues and help launch the RTR without charging them just because I like the hobby, I like their company and I like what they are trying to do. I think it would have been in their interests to utilize the resources I offered but they are moving very fast and aggressively with the RTR offering. I hope it does well for them.

PTI racing isn't some big worldwide company or an importer. It is a company born and raised in the US that does their own MFG and building in the US as well. I give them credit for that. You can hardly manufacture anything in the US anymore, not to mention that PTI Racing doesn't have the kind of volume that really gives them good price breaks. I don't know the financials of these trucks at all, but I can tell you they don't have much margin in these trucks.

I hope PTI Racing makes it! If they do, then that means other small US based RC companies have a chance too. If you like the truck and think you want one, just buy it! Give the little guy a chance!

Agreed 100%...it is a great truck in any form. I called and talked to the owner when he first released these crawlers and we chatted for about an hour about possible weaknesses and fixes. I bought the next version as soon he released them and it was a spitting image of what we disgussed. Not that I was the only one who gave imput but I think most crawler guys think alike and he most likely got 100's of feedbacks on possible future improvements. I am sure if he keep listening to his customers he will do fine. He is a good guy to talk to too....very helpful and kind. Kevin
