Maybe I have too much time on my hands?! LOL.. I compared the plastic bushings from the Wild One (20+ yrs ago) and the current Tamiya 5x11 bushing..

They are different! The one on the right is the vintage bushing...

interesting. hard to tell from the pics, but the vintage bushing looks to be a bit higher quality.

The new one has some indentation space between the outer and inner races (not really, since it is not a ballbearing, but just using the term to refer to the part of the bushion).. I have no idea why.. ha!!

I would think the new design has less friction maybe with a less contact area maybe?

Hey LB, nice find! Really envious on this one. Gotta love Tamiya vintage!

I wouldn't run it in the dirt, but give it a cautious ride here and there!

BTW: These are aluminium rims, made by the same person who made my Frog aluminium wheel covers.

Sand Blasters! i absolutely love the look of those tires. plus, they're modeled after a real "Sand Blaster 915" tire, making them that much cooler.

did they take a tire pen to those or did Tamiya ship some with white lettering?

White lexan paint, a very small + screwdriver and lots of patience.

At least thats the way I do it. Tamiya never sold these tires with white lettering, AFAIK.

Thanks Dante! Yeah, might open up the tranny and make sure everything is built right, if no bearings, swap them in, and then run it around w/ them Hornet / Frog tires... ha!!

Very tempted to run them on gravel to take some actoin pics, though!! ha ha ha!!

LB I am so jealous The Wild One is by far the coolest RC ever made......ever!

You have to run it, even if you only jump it 1 or 2ft high
