The CMAC is the old Goodyear Model Aircraft Club. Dave runs a non IMAA event. I have an IMAA event in July. The warbird event in early Aug will be CMAC's first. Their field is a little tight, while our is on a full scale airport.

White letteringpaint. I was busy all day doing non-modeling projects but I got a couple hours in tonight to get the white paint on for the lettering.
pic 1/2/3/4/5: Except for where I masked off where the red band will be on the fuse, I only generally masked off for the top part of the vertical fin and no masking on the cowl and rudder. I used some Badger's water base acylic flat white. It was so thin that I just used it straight from the bottle. I used my old Bink's air brush. The red band on the fuse will get 3" numbers, the sides of the cowl will get 2" numbers, and the vertical fin and rudder will get 1/2" lettering..

If anyone has all the nomenclature that is on the AT-6, please reply. I pulled this picture off the web but no close pictures of all that print. thanks.
pic 1-6: The 3" numbers didn''t show up so I painted everything but the band on the fuse where the 3" numbers are to be placed. I put the SNJ-3 letters on the vertical fin and 6775 on the rudder. The cowl got two inch ''75'' on each side and 1/2" ''75'' on the front. The wings get a band between the landing light and the inside edge of the aileron. The flaps were put in the hinge pockets to insure the masking tape on the flaps is even with the wings. I doubled up on the newpaper for masking since the paper usually has ''processing'' holes along the edges.
pic 7-11: The red needs a consistent color underneath it or the shade of red is affected as you can see on the cowl and places where I undersprayed the white on for the lettering. Instead of trying to put too much red on and get runs, I''ll just leave this coat dry and put another coat on tomorrow. To keep from getting any marks on the rudder and elevators, I just painted one side and will finish up the other side, also tomorrow.

I''ve reduced some Curtiss and Hamilton labels down to about 3/4" to put on the props. I bought some blank decal paper for this and hopefully for the nomenclature. I see they don't show up very clearly via the web but they look good on print.

The pic you have came from a 1/48 Monogram AT-6. The decals he used were Aeromasters 48-387. The nomen. are the kit decals. To bad, I just sold my kit at a swapshop.

edp, could you send a scan of your decal set if you still have the decals to my email. I tried enlarging the decal set but I can''t read the monenclature. If I can get the nomenclature, I can at least make my own. Much appreciated on this important information. thanks, email: samparfitt@fuse.net
Here''s the roundel that I''ll be using. I printed it on some badger frisket film. I should be able to cut each color part out, and the tacky back side should hold each part down while I spray paint the appropriate color.

nomenclature:
Even though a lot of the below nomenclature is for a P-38, a lot of it can be used for other 1/5 scale planes. I took a lot of close up pictures of a full size P-38 and duplicated the a lot of the nomenclature. These don't have the lines through each letter as a stencil should but to get all this 'stenciling' for a particular warbird in the desired scale would be difficult. If I missed any (plus spelling), let me know. I'll be transferring them to decal paper. I still need to figure out how to put multiple pictures on one sheet to save on decal paper! If you have any problems making a web copy, send me an email (samparfitt@fuse.net) and I'll send them via the email. Note: the pictures are for a P-38 (scale size and full dimensions). Note: will be duplicated in the Yellow P-38 build thread. Note: I just noticed that the 'cut-paste' moved all the appropriate gaps that I had between groups of words are now gone.
