Can someone post or email me pictures of the Yellow Aircraft Spitfire retracts both before installation and after.

I would like to compare them to the Robart retracts and I also need to see how the mounting blocks are added to the wing. My Yellow Spitfire does not have the mounting rails installed. I assume that they get epoxied into the slots provided as they were in the Yellow P-47.

Thank you.

308, my .02 cents, if you can afford it, (not to be presumptuous) go with the Yellow gear. They are nice units, sturdy and the wing is cut to accept them. All other gears require some modding of the rails. Granted yours are not installed, which seems really odd, but fwiw, I would used the Yellow.

To my knowledge, the rails were never installed on the spit from yellow. I think because of the 3 piece wing. You have to join the outer panels to the center section prior to installing the rails. The foam is all ready to accept them though. Do you already have the robart gear? If not, I second what Ray said on the yellow's. They are a great combo for this plane. I have 2 spits, one complete and the other being built. I'd be happy to post a few shots of the install on the completed one, as I have not installed them on the kit yet....prob. is I am leaving town for 2 weeks. If you don't get any pics by then, when I get back in town I'll post whatever you need.

Yea Dave... He forgot to mention he is out of town for 2 weeks on his HONEYMOON in Hawaii. !!! (NICE)

Use the Yellow gear. The rails are used for strength in joining the wings together. The break is right in the middle of the gear rails. The 47 is already installed.

I would like to see an improved version of Yellow's Spitfire gear for use in that size ship.

Any taker's Darrell??
