I was looking around and found these tires made by Trinity. Would they be able to fit the NOW?

Could we put 1/10 wheels on a Trinity NOW?? Would we need adapters? If so which adapters??

I am thinking of making some metal studded tires for my NOW on ice/ packed snow but I can't seem to figure out which wheels will fit other than the ugly stock ones... Anyone??

Even with my truck retarded all they way down for everything, but having the launch control at 0% it will make it about 2 feet on my carpet until it pulls the front end up. Now I also tried it with everything maxxed out, and lets just say the standing backflip isnt that hard.....

Im thinking of getting the Trinity Now, just saw the release of the Losi Speed-T, have some questions:

1. Will the current setup of the Trinity work with NIMH batteries as well? I saw a post in here about the low voltage esc, so presumably yes?

2. With the included LIPO pack, what is the typical run time? One use said 20 min and the other 9.

3. Would you say this goes as fast as a Revo? Most people agree at about 40mph.

4. How stable is the car at high speeds, does it flip? If there is no control, I would wait for upgrades.

5. Are dean plugs to tamiya converters available (assuming I buy another LIPO that has a Deans Plug)? I understand the battery pack for charging takes Deans plugs but for the use in the vehicle tamiya.

6. Any thoughts on the Trinity NOW vs the new Losi Speed-T?

Ok , here goes ........

1. I would bet that with NiMh batteries it would cog pretty badly , they just dont have the punch that a LiPo does .
The NOW comes with a Mamba 25 ESC which is pretty much the standard for mini brushless ESC's

2. I have gotten well into 20 minute runtimes , if you tone down the ESC it will run longer .

3. In a drag race I bet it would beat a REVO 3.3 till about 50-70 feet till that 3.3 gets going . 40 mph is very belivable with this car . I am going to clock mine when it gets a little warmer .

4. This car is VERY stable at high speeds ! steering is nice and tight and it holds a straight line at top speed .

5. Sure there are adapter plugs for Tamiya to Deans , but the Tamiya connectors suck sooo bad its just better to convert to the Deans Ultra plugs IMO . The battery does NOT use the Tamiya plug to charge with it uses a balancing charge lead that is a little white plug with 4 pin holes in it .

6. The NOW and the Speed T are 2 TOTALLY different animals , ones a 1/16 4WD truggy and the other is a 1/10 2WD stadium truck ......... I would think the NOW is gonna be better off road , I have a JATO 3.3 and its a real handful to keep under control . I'd imagine the Speed T would be the same way , too much power and not enough grip . The Speed T is also gonna need some expensive batteries to get to those high speeds also .

Hope this helps you out ....

K

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH, JUST A FEW FOLLOWUPS THEN I WONT TROUBLE YOU:

2. I have gotten well into 20 minute runtimes , if you tone down the ESC it will run longer .

I HAVE LITTLE EXPERIENCE WITH ELECTRIC SC, I USED TO USE MECHANICAL ONES BACK IN THE DAY. WHEN YOU SAY TONE DOWN, IS THIS AN EASY ADJUSTMENT?

I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH REPLACING PLUGS, AND WILL WANT TO GET AN EXTRA BATTERY, I SAW IN THE FORUM THAT SOMEONE SUGGESTED THIS ONE:

http://www.aero-nuts.com/product_info.php?cPath=32_57&products_id=453

IF I BUY THIS, WILL I NEED TO MAKE ANY MODIFICATIONS TO THE CONNECTOR PLUGS TO USE IT IN THE NOW OR WILL I NEED AN ADAPTOR? PERHAPS THE NEXT TIME IM IN IL CAN TROUBLE YOU TO SHOW ME HOW TO CHANGE THE PLUGS.

ALSO WITH CHARGING THEM, I HAVE A SUPER BRAIN 989, ASSUMING I BUY THESE BATTERIES AND USE THE STOCK ONE, IS 1 C CHARGING AT A CUTOFF OF 140F THE RIGHT SETTING? I ASSUME NO TRICKLE CHARGE AND NO DISCHARGE AND WHAT ELSE? I PREFER NOT TO USE THE INCLUDED CHARGER.

AMAIN AND TOWER ARE THE ONLY ONES I CAN FIND (BESIDES DIRECTLY FROM TRINITY) FOR 209, ANY OTHER PLACES? IN YOUR OPINION, SHOULD I WAIT TO BUY FOR THEM TO FIX BUGS OR ARE WE AT THE POINT ITS OK?

The Mamba 25 is adjustable with the TX or you can buy a Castle link and hook it up too your computer .

That battery will work but you will need to raise the mounting post to strap it down .

Their batteries do not come with the plugs pre soldered so you would have to put one on youself . Your LHS probably has Tamiya connectors you could put on without soldering . But I'd still change them to Deans plugs .

Your SuperBrain will charge them no problem , but you will still need a cell balancer ......

so i took the now out for a real test today in a big azz parking lot with my friends. its really a great truck. I havent broken anything (besides my body) on it yet and all i did was locktite the motor mount screws and fix my leaky shock.

We did donuts on ice, drifting threw tons of dirt/gravel/dust. and my friend made a bootleg cardboard jump over a curb off of which i executed many front flips (it just flew that way).

Anyways coming home with a completely filthy but still perfect running truck makes it worth the 220
