"Santa" left a nice big box on my doorstep today.

A CMP Edge 540T from Nitroplanes/Nitromodels.

This is a LIGHT nicely built 50CC plane with primarily ply construction.

The wings and elevator are affixed with twin support tubes and thumb screw bolts, making removal of the tail and wings quick and easy.

The rudder uses a pull-pull short coupled linkage, with the rudder servo mounted directly in the tail just in front of the tail wheel.

The plane uses pin hinges throughout, which are pre-drilled and slotted. Wing servo covers are provided which sit flush against the surface for low drag.

The covering scheme has decals pre-applied over a thick ora-coat type covering that is in turn gel coated.

The provided hardware is decent, including an aluminum crank for the rudder, and short metal rods with screw on clevises for the other surfaces.

The cowl provides ample space for a 50CC engine and the manual calls this a 1.40 sized plane. It is possible to fly this plane with a 160-180 4C engine, as it is larger and lighter than the 1.40 Yak by CMP in which I have a 1.80 engine installed.

The provided gear are white, not black ( or CF? ) as they appear in the photo.

I plan on substituting a different tail wheel and tail gear assembly rather than the one provided.

If anyone is interested I'll post pictures of the plane during assembly sometime next month.

Another winner from Nitroplanes and CMP.

I like those Nitro birds, got the P-82 Twin Mustang, the Cessna 182 (140 Size), and the Twin Cessna 310 (93" setting in thier wombs (boxes). I luv the prices, and will gladly reinforce here and there, and change out hardware as necessary...

Bought some ASP (Magnum) 4-Strokes on E-Bay new in the box, very good ratings from users, and saved a ton of money. I tell 'ya, back in the day RC stuff was sooo expensive, now those cunning Chinese are making my life better...Hope we never go to war with 'em...

That's a scary thought...

While some decry the compromises made to get ARFs out the door, I sure do like the convenience of not having to spend 4-6 months building a plane.

Hey Ranger,
I'd like to see pics as you do it if you have the time.
Might be good for us droolers to see the plane going together.

Some great pics of this plane can be found: HERE!

There was nought a wrinkle on the finish on mine.

I just started my build.
