United Hobbies - SV 26 cc
Hi
I am looking at this SV 26 cc gas engine marketed by United Hobbies www.unitedhobbies.com
At US$150, just wondering if it's reliable or just another piece of paper weight.
Appreciate feedback from anyone who has experience with it.
Cheers !

motor looks good. for 150.00 it may be all looks. the picture dident paste with the rest. interested in what they say about it. ad specs below. only thing i dont like about it is how the hub bolts on.it has no stud running through it like zenoahs which gives tremendous suppout. just bolting at both ends can lead to harmonic vibrations. its not as rigid as a stud under tention.

Here is a link to another post on this engine. I think you'll find some of the information you are looking for.

I found the engine over all to look very good and for now that is all I can positive about it. It is heavier than the spec say. The weight on mine is 3lbs 3oz (1.45kg) That is with engine, muffler and ignition. The carb is to small to getting any kind on good performace out of it. I will be changing the carb out to a Walbro WT-644, This carb comes with a choke and will let the engine breath better and spin up high RPM's.
Still for $150.00 plus another $40.00 for a better carb this engine is still a good deal.

RE: United Hobbies - SV 26 cc
I bought a SV 26cc new for $125. It starts right up using a standard sullivan type starter. I am getting 8K plus with a 16x6 prop. Downside is VERY weak engine wounts. I have had two fail during normal flying at different times, discovered after clean-up at home. I wasa able to find someone to TIG weld the broken pieces back on the engine.
