The new improved carbon fiber frame adresses to the issues of the aluminium frame types such as easy bending on hard landings and the difficulty of fitting larger servos.
Bending of the arm that binds the main area of the frame(main shaft) with the motor holder will always occur at hard landings and will rapidly "chew" your main gear teeth if not straightened.
The new design is more robust:
- the arm that leads th the motor holder is now thicker and stonger
- the gap in the back of the frame is now filled blocking vibration and the possibility of the sevos tilting inside the frame
Two type of sevo holders:
- the one between of the two frame sides is made out of a single part carbon fiber
- the ones on the sides are made of 1mm thick alluminium(simmilar to the original ones but now enlarged to fit your servos!
All holders are made for servos such as the hitec 56 or 65(before it was difficult or even impossible to fit them) but they are not drilled sou you can make the holes for the servo of your choce.
The front mounting spot has been eliminated since monting the tail rudder servo on the tail offers much better precision and accuracy.
The current cf thickness is 2mm.

The frame will enter production if your feedback is positive

Questions and suggestions are wellcome.

Posted new picture (direct link: http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/...oholdershb4.jpg ) to show you some updates.

The frame might come with aluminium servo holders simmilar to the original ones but bigger for bigger servos their use is optional...

Speaking of aluminium... one of the greatest annoyances of the aluminium frame was that the "arm" that was holding the motor holder wasn't solid enough and easily bent on hard landings;if you didn't tare apart the whole frame to straighten it, the motor pinion was not parallel to the main gear and was "chewing up" the upper part of the main gear.

Now that arm is solid carbon fiber! No more bending, not there, not nowhere

Also if you've ever gone into reversed, you know that(depending on the head) that the upper you go(with the swash) the more flexilble the swash-holding bracket becomes=>less precision, more vibrations.

The new pic posted shows the new solid cf bracket in version II B(since this one is by now the one selected for production).
You will have to cut the old bracket off for this to fit, but I assure you even if you're not into inverted this is highly worth it

Fantastic, it looks like youve covered the problems with the upper frame completely, can you make the mount which the motor is attached too ? Do you have a price yet ?

At first I was worried about the exact same thing! but the problem is that the motor holder also attaches to the frame, being bent @ 90 degrees. That part can not be made out of carbon fiber since cf can't be bent that way(and it would need to have also a hole for the mounting screw). You shouldn't worry though even if you have the newer plastic version because it's solid enough and the motor won't go loose no matter how hot it gets(the wires coming out of the motor are also insulated with a type of plastic and nothing happens to them ).

The high price(currently 100$)depends on the small number of buyers, the more people show interest, the cheaper it becomes.

This carbon fiber frame sounds fantastic just a liitle over priced at the mo. However at about $100 it will save you money in the long run. Look forward to seeing its progress

priuce of carbon fibre is expensive. but if this helps the walkera helis performance i am willing to pay that 100.00 sounds great and am hoping to see a full detailed plan of the frame.....

Id have to agree that $100 is allot but i love the 60b, and even more so i love CF as a base frame material, it fits the bill perfectly and i would get one, even at that cost, but i would still prefer to pay less.
