Status: offline 		I know that I've seen something on using rigid foam for a parting board.. I searched a little but couldn't find anything.. I thought it was Ed Smith that mentioned it.

The reason I ask is that I was looking at this scrap sheet of pink foam in the loading dock at work and I thought, "why couldn't I use that for a parting board?" It sure would be a lot easier to cut and then just cover it with some Econocoat or something like that..

Any thoughts?

Status: offline 		I've never tried it, but it would probably work. I've monokoted simple sanded wood shapes, and used the waxed monokote surface as a parting plane and it worked well.

The only thing I'd think could be a problem is if the foamboard gets warm, and starts warping (due to the resin exotherming during cure, or due to heat being applied to control/quicken cure time).
