incarus -> which side has more amps (12/23/2007 4:11:26 AM)

are there more amps going through the connector between motor/esc or the connector between esc/battery. or are they the same

high amp connectors are expensive so if I can put high amp connector at one point rather than points that dont need such connectors would save some money

I could possibly expect about 85 amp possible(what motor is capable of) I was planning on puting 6mm bullets between motor/esc( the wire one the cc110HV used 10 guage wire) these get pretty expensive. I was told my Castle that I could use deans ultra connectors between bat/esc. these are more affordable.

I know that other connectors are availabe with high amp applications(power poles) but these are also expensive

I would rather not use bullets at the battery/esc in fear of accidently shorting them out due to exposed ends although I could take extra precautions to prevent cross connecting/shorting

im told deans are good up to 60 amps which leads me to the above question . i will be using 12s A123s

At 85 amps & way more in a unusual load condition, I would be using a small set of Sermos type connectors. They have very conservative ratings & are VERY safe from melting and shorting to anything. Good cheap versions are available MCMASTERS.
At 85 amp power ranges, connectors are pennies compared to the total cost........Go for it.[;)]
