It is good, and is limited to 2.5 amps and does not include a balancer.

My opinion is NO, I have 2 Tritons that work great for NiMh an NiCd, but everytime I use them on Lipo;s the batteries slowly but surely degrade. I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this on their Triton charger.

I use both of my Tritons (with the Electrifly balancers) on my LiPos all the time and never have any problems. It must be you.

With Lipo's, balancing is th key. The triton is great, but you will need to use an external balancer for best results. A123's on the other hand do not have the same balancing requirements.

The Triton is great, I've used one for a cou;le years on LiPos with no problems. Another good charger for most batteries (it is limited in ampere and maximum cell count) is the Hobbico Elite. If you are into small electrics and 3 cell or less LiPos, either one is excellent but both require seperate balancers.

This thread answered some questions I had. Just one more though. I have a Triton charger.
Obviously a triton 1.

On the top of the T1 it says
Lithium Ion
Lead Acid
NiCd
NiMH

However, as seen in the pic, on the new T2, it clearly says Lipo/Ion.

So does the Li Ion on the T1 mean Li Poly as well? Just different
way of spelling? Just want to make sure before I go and hook up a lipo to this thing
and fry $50.

Thanks

Tyler

My Triton - See where in says Lithium Ion.

The new Triton - Lithium Ion replaced with Lipo/Ion.

Hi Tyler:

You may have already answered your question by now, but I thought I'd offer a reply. I have the Triton 1, and it will charge both Li-Ion (3.6 volts per cell) and Li-Poly (3.7 volts per cell). Make sure you correctly identify which type of battery you have, and choose the proper voltage. A two cell Li-Ion would charge at 7.2 volts, and a two cell Li-Po would charge at 7.4 volts.

Ken.
