Nice job UTM, I'm about the same level right now, Can hover right side in but switch over to left and it's ugly!

Randy, yes the review on the KingII motor is correct. In a KingII it's not enough power, too much heli for a 270 motor. Now throw that motor into a # 4 and your cooking with fire baby! You would love it for fast forward flight, it's peak power is about 70% throttle and just hums along. Great motor for 10 bucks.

Okay, you gotta have a look at this! http://www.trextuning.com/blog/?page_id=488
This is the Gaui 200. I had one of these little guys in my hands tonight. Exactly the same size as the CX2, flies with a 7.4 volt lipo, full collective pitch mini heli. I have to get one of these for indoor winter flying! Not sure I'll be doing inverted in the living room but sure would be fun to try. Has to be the coolest little heli I've seen. Full CF frame, all CNC head. Man I want one bad! How do I get this past the wife?

That little Gaui is very cool, and I see you have it in stock at your store! My CX2 might have to find a new home to make room for a new living room flyer???

Very cool little heli. Love to get my mits on one With a 4800 BL motor it may be small enough to be a livingroom flyer but hit something with that headspeed and there'll be damage for sure. My poor flat-screen... which has already taken a hit with the CX2 I need more $$$ but don't we all?

They are not a RTF (90% ready) and they are full CNC AND C.F. You will have to add another $200 or so for Good gyro and receiver. The tail is belt driven, so that's VERY good, brushless motor, Full CCPM head so need radio like a DX-7 that has that capability.

I liken it to a mini T-REX. 1mm c.f. frame is the same thickness as a T-Rex! ! Because it is so light with such a strong frame; I bet it is a tough little bird ! !

I had the day off, so I took the opportunity to fly a few packs out in our backyard. As you can see, there are barriers and HESCO baskets to "protect" us from mortar attcks. I hate to say this, but it's a bunch of obstacles for heli flyers...LOL. I've been wanting to just flip this thing over, but I've been holding back because I don't want to have the same fate after my last attempt at aerobatics. Hope everyone else had some good flying time.

As far as the GAUI 200, one of the guys have one over here. It looks pretty cool. He runs his with a DX7. He should be complete with his repairs and have it flyable for long.

Cool photos Crusader! It's amazing to me you can concentrate on stuff like flying your heli with the kind of daily stress you guys deal with over there! My hat's off to ya bud'

Watching the first half of that video I thought, "This guy is gonna be good when he gets past Tail In flight". But watching the second half shows that he seems to have it pretty well figured out.
Yep - that's a cool little helicopter.

Shoot me a link to UTM's video if ya would. I keep looking for it and I must be missing it somehow. Sounds like something I need to see to keep myself focused on helicopters.
My falcon is sitting looking bored on the shelf and the Belt is ready to go - just waiting for a decent helicopter pilot. I'm still looking for one too .
I suppose I should at least spin it up to see if I put all the parts in the right places.
Later, Solo

New Day, New Beginning.
I got my nerve up again - yes, finally again - and I took the Belt out for another crash 'em smash 'em ordeal. Only this time I messed with some of the knobs on the Tx. The left one is the pitch curve and it does make a difference. The Belt will lift at a somewhat lower rpm, but it's still a handful for me, being quite new at this and all. Then I tried the right knob - the throttle curve. That's NEAT! By balancing the two knobs I can actually get the heli to come off the ground gracefully very much like the Falcon. The head speed is far lower than the standard pitch / rpm knobs at "zero -zero" flight. With the lower head speed the controls are far quicker to respond. I suppose that I am doing the same thing you fancy Tx guys are doing, but I don't have ability to reshape the curves. But I can set my position on the curves and that is a HUGE advantage over a lesser Tx.

I am not going to run the heli at the lowest possible rpm, but I am dialing it down from 'Insane' to just below 'Nutz'. I'd like to think that I am better than 'Docile'. Time will tell. And I've already smushed it twice on 'Insane' so I know that doesn't work for me.

Anyhow I still don't have enough room to fly a heli in this size class. That forces me to stay honest. When I was starting with the Falcon it seemed that I need as much room as I had. I could hover in the living room, but when I moved outdoors, I needed all of the patio. And out front I 'needed' all of the front yard. So if I restrict my space, I force good flight control.
I did finally get the heli up and into a good hover. I managed to back it under the picnic table with all of that horrible metal structure and it scared the sweat out of me! I kept my cool and worked it out from under the table with no issues. I did finally get the heli up to the four foot level where the air is less hostile and it smoothed out. I have already shortened the swash links. I have no need for negative pitch, so I'm down to about 3° at minimum throttle. Of course the pitch curve pot lets me change that from the Tx but I wanted the mechanical change so I wasn't 'landing' with negative pitch. That's really hard on blades and stuff.

I felt like I was out for a long time - but time slows down when you are in a panic situation, so in reality it was just a few minutes. And it felt good. And I do understand why you guys are spending the money on the upgraded Tx. I could fly this bird today if I was handed a DX series Tx with the numbers all dialed in for me. But that's OK. I will also be able to fly this bird with the stock Tx given s
