Thanks Randy. Makes me feel better about my motor temps. I have been worried that I am burning it up. Have you had to replace one? If not how many flights have you got on it?

Max - I do actually aspire to do some mild 3D. I don't really know how far I want to go with it but when I do get better I'd like to be able to do some loops, rolls, inverted hovers, etc... Who knows after that. Depends on my success rate with those manuvers. I don't really have a problem doing inside and outside flips on the sims at the LHS. I'm sure it's different with a real heli seeing $$$$ while the heli is not flipping as it should. Like I said, I will most likely end up buying a sim of some sort before I get there. Heck I don't even have a CP yet and am having trouble with FF I have a long way to go before then but I am looking ahead. I hope to get the DX6 before too long. Fathers day is coming up after all

Have a great day all

Uri

UTM, I think I mounted the Slo-Max at the same time I received the 1300mah batteries. If that is true then I have precisely 115-flights (14-min flights) on it so far. I might have some time on it with the 850mah packs but I can't remember

The motor sounds the same as the day I put it on. No louder, or any different tone when it is running. I have not noticed any power difference from new at this point

I'm gonna be flying it tomorrow (weather permitting) so I hope I didn't just jinx my motor

OK Randy, If we run our sim cable into the computer and out the modem into the internet and you pick up the signal at your end and use a wireless connection to a lap top (computer - not dancer) with a jack to connect your cable to, and if you have a camera on your computer so we can see you fly we have it made. I mean, if two people can fly in Microsoft's Flight Sim X and they can talk to each other in real time and see each other's plane or helicopter, then this ought to be a piece of cake.

I suppose there are a couple of details to work out, but how tough can it be?

Soloboss,

All that you need is a quantum bi-plexing signal generator at both ends of the linear circuit. However, you may have to readjust the volamic bi-polar vectron gadget.

I think the easiest solution is to not crash?

If Dave is right, we gotta buy another tool. Dave will google the volamic bi-polar vectron alignment tool and let us know what's involved. We can always count on Dave.
You've been really quiet this week Dave. Did you have a good nap?

Who's idea was it to simply not crash? What a wise guy, although I do have that mastered. I found the perfect spot for the Belt on a shelf. Anywhere else I put it, it ends up on the ground (or floor).

Xyster101,

Your thought is excellent, NOT CRASH. However, I don't know anyone that hasn't. Great idea!!!
I'll keep trying.

RMG2,

My problem is I never stop thinking, the old computer brain never shuts off. Hard sleeping at night!

Kenn,

Smart guys think alike. It's probably the time difference in Iraq, is why I beat ya.
I see 6 more months before you're home bound. Getting to be the short timer. I remember when I left Vietnam, it was December and 86 degrees, flew in on a commercial flight to Chicago O'Hare airport. It was 10 degrees, man was I cold.. Took a week or so for the body to readjust to the climate difference..... God's speed to you, and have Blue Skies.

Soloboss,

Still yawning.... nice nap though!

There are only 4 web-sites that carry this tool, and would you belive it, all are back-ordered.

Here's a brief description of how it works:

A bipolar tool use, includes first and second electrically conductive arms each having a distal end and a proximal end wherein each of the first and second electrically conductive arms function as an independent electrode at the joining of the distal ends. A insulating element for electrically isolating the proximal ends of the first and the second electrically conductive arms from one another is provided. The proximal ends of the arms are embedded in the insulating element in such a manner that biases the distal ends of the arms normally in a joined or closed position. This feature enhances the dissecting capability of the bipolar tool. The special tool can also include an insulating covering extending from the proximal ends up to but not including the distal ends of the first and second electrically conductive arms for isolating the first and second electrically conductive arms from each other. The insulating element preferably includes prong members for connection to electrocoagulating equipment. The first and second electrically conductive arms may include a sharpened blade at a distal end or a planarly flattened or rounded distal end or a pointed tip at a distal end or a planarly flattened distal end. Preferably, the tool further comprises a tube extending from near the proximal end of at least one arm to an area near the distal end of the other arm.

Hey Dave - those aren't back ordered. You were on the wrong site. If you look at dentistry tools, you'll find exactly what you are talking about! Except the ones for dentists are manual and we need an electronic version so it works over the internet. That may be the problem after all. It needs to plug in.

Kenn - 6 months and counting!! Excellent!!
Blue skies buddy.

Mark,

The volamic bi-polar vectron circuitry is similar to a 3 in 1 controller, only much more highly enginered. One is required at each end of the linear circuit. And the dentistry tools are required for exact calibration Kinda like adjusting the gyro gain..only more precise.
Hobby-Lobby is back ordered.

Gonna go take a nap... To much water today, had floods, bridges out and all that good stuff. Weather is terrible here.

Been hangin' out with the wife today but the last couple hours I couldn't resist taking the FP to the back yard. The wind has been almost gone this late afternoon and conditions are perfect for the FP outdoors! Without wind flying the little Honey Bee is purely relaxing and enjoyable! 3-packs of total control and more continuos piros then I have ever done My FP flys so well I will never change another thing on this heli long as I own it (okay, maybe brushless)

Anyone else get flying today?

Wow Dave. What a difference a hundred miles makes. We had overcast and breezes but no rain at all. Yesterday was sunny and hot. Did you ever consider that there is a reason you were banished to wherever that place is where you live? Green Wood or Green Acres or whatever it's called.

Tonight the sun went down and it's completely still. It would be a great evening for flying if it wasn't dark.

Randy,
I Googled Orion Slo Max motors and found them on Amazon for under $10. It seems Amazon takes the orders, but the parts are drop shipped from a place called Atomic Hobbies and games. Oddly, the place is here in Fort Wayne, IN barely two miles away from me. There are two business associated, but they don't share their stock. One is a retail merchant and the other is a warehouse that doesn't sell retail. I went to the retailer and asked about it and it sounds weird to me. The wholesale side just moved from 2200 square feet to 15,000 sq ft. They have a lot of stock and they are making a move to be a power seller online. But it's just odd that I can't order from the retailer and pick up the stuff at the retail store later the same day and pay only tax with no shipping. And the retailer does not order from the warehouse in town. The retailer and wholesaler are barely two miles apart. I sent a note to the one of the owners of the wholesale side reminding him that Ft Wayne's is a regional shopping center. To make the products he has in stock unavailable to local shoppers might be worth rethinking. We do have another LHS with two stores in town, but the LHS and the wholesaler don't carry the same product lines so it's not like anyone is stepping on toes. I'm no business guy, but it does sound like an odd business model.
