Sounds like an excellent moment for you to step up and obtain both That way you can vouch for the veracity of the author

Any 100cc twin on the 40% Giles performs extremely well if you balance the plane accordingly. The new DL isn't really any lighter in the long run than, say, a RCGF 100, DA 100, or BME 102 and up. The Brison 105 I used in mine weighs less at 5 lbs, 4 ozs. than the new version DA 100. Way more than enough power available. In the end just about all of them will fly the 40% Giles in a manner much better than is required.

If you set the plane up with the c/g in the right place the plane doesn't care.

True, it has plenty of wing area for any engine. You will need to move at least one battery pack the the rear to get it to balance with DA-100 or equivalent.

My DL100 is scheduled to arrive today. Might just put it in the Giles for a comparison to the DA. For balance, as Tom said, the batteries need to be moved to the aft fuse, balance for me is right on the wing tube. My location was shown in post #27. This plane has got to be the best bang for the buck of any I've flown to date. Now need to save for my next Wild Hare, thus the DL100!

I have two 2300mA A123 batteries in the tail to balance the CG with a DA-100 and KS-86 canisters upfront.
