Didn't you just tell him to get the VXL because of the warranty? Then you told him there's no point

The motor is the same. However, the redcat racing esc only goes up to 75A and much less voltage correct?
The 3300kv motor is fine and provides a lot of torque imo. If you want to go faster, you can get more voltage and just go to modellfun.com and contact them; based on their ebay questionares you can paypal and buy the ESC separately.
You can also buy a fiego motor for 40 bux here that is 5070kv that is has an enclosed can fiego motor

Never mind they're sold out. Anyone know where else to buy these?

He was comparing 2 similar motors for speed.

If you want feigao motors in the S-can size, check out www.offshoreelectrics.com for around 50 bucks.

Nice thanks. I want to try a feigao 5000k motor for the better speed, efficiency, and closed can design ( to block dirt and maybe snow).
Also my tamiya kit only allows up to 21T pinion.

Which one should I get though?
540 6S 5,915 RPM/Volt 1/8" Shaft
540 7S 5,070 RPM/Volt 1/8" Shaft
540 8S 4,436 RPM/Volt 1/8" Shaft

My Tamiya Hummer weighs 4 LB fully loaded. I'de like to order one of these before Monday.
I'm running 7.2 and 8.4v for now.
I'm thinking the 7S to keep it under 40000 rpm.

P.S
I couldn't find the 380C motor in stock anywhere except for RC-Monster but it was $66. Is it better?

I have the 8s and it's peppy. It's rated at 81 amps, which I'm guessing is peak. I dragrace with it too, at 6s1p and has survived it all the abuse for a while now.

I'm getting the 380C 6L, 7s and 8s motors early next week to play with. I can't tell you how they behave untill then. But they are cheap "clones" of the hacker C40 series.

I was goofing off with the modellfun motor again today. Running 3s2p A123 for like 15 minutes. The motor barely got warm with 87/26 gearing. The motor still smells funny after the run.

Hmm cool. Would you say a Feigao 7/8S will give me more speed, midrange torque and longer run times?
Also, where are you getting your 380C from?

yes, the 7/8s will do u good and if you ever wanted to go faster, just add more voltage, since u are limited by gearing.

Someone was selling them on RCM and I bought 4 from him. He was selling a used 6s as well.

RC-Monster forums?

I decided to wait until I fix my stupid tamiya. Everytime I take it out something breaks. Pressure plates, front body mounts, rear body mount coming out cause of screw backing out, and now the front screws holding the gearbox backed out tonight. What a badly engineered chassis seriously. I'm starting to regret not getting a 4x4 Buggy (they're just ugly).

Have you tried superglueing the screws and yes on the RC monster forum.

Are you a mind reader? That's exactly what I tried to do but I really didn't give it that much thought and time. For example, the larger blackish screw holding the rear body mount; I put a drop of glue on the thread, blew on it a little and screwed it in, waited and screwed it again but it wouldn't stop. I guess you just screw it and leave it till it dries?

I wish you luck on getting your motors. I only trust these kind of transaction on people I get to know and trust, and ebay because if seller ratings and fear of bad feedback (and paypal).

I forgot to mention, I put my esc on 13khz instead of 8and noticed longer run times. On my tenergy 8.2v "3800"mah batteries I also noticed that I had to trigger to full throttle, quickly release the trigger and then pull all the way again to get real max speed, I blame the batteries for that.
I think it's needed to break the current draw threshold with that battery because of its limited allowance of current output. I had no problem with my 7.2v Tenergy Propels (42A, 84A bursts rated) which also have a slightly slower top speed than the 8.2v ones.

I can't fit this motor in my Bandit unfortunately because of the heatsink placed in the middle. I should order bearings for that kit too, How to these motors perform on the Traxxas stock chassis' with the slipper clutch tight?

The guy that I bought the motors from, is the same person I bid against on Ebay for motors.

Leave the glue alone untill it dries. It should hold good. If not, then try contact cement and let it sit overnight.

Cool that your esc still works. Mine only works if the motor has no load on it. Bummer. But whenever I have time, I'll swap all the fets out.
The motor still works great, running it through the mamba esc. I don't use a slipper clutch on my rustler. Mine is locked with a the use of a traxxas spur adapter. Slipper Clutches don't last with high power setups.

I hope them plastic universal shafts don't bend with the brushless setup. Then again my bandit's tires are pretty small and slippery so I might not have to worry about them breaking. I play in a school park for now at night anyways. Just drifting around and making speed runs.
I can't wait till it snows already here in NYC, we haven't received any snow yet that actually sticks

The esc problem you have is probably something burned out. You can order 100-200 amp shunts on ebay. Connect it in series with a battery, put a voltmeter on each end of the shunt, put the car on the ground on a wall and pull the trigger. The voltage given on the meter will tell you how much current you are drawing, i.e a 200A 75mV shunt, if you read 75 mV you are drawing 200A. And they are pretty accurate if you do it right.

I found a used $95 TH priced "Team Orion Vortex 5.5" motor for 60 bux but can't find any specs on it other than it looks like the new Feigao sensored series and it's 5.5 turn.

quote:

FEATURES: Neodymium Sintered Rotor Improves Efficiency, Power Output,
Reliability, and Driveability
Precision CNC Machined Can Assembly
Dual Ball Bearnings for Maximum RPM
Fits 1/10 Scale
Works with all Leading Sensored and Sensorless Brushless ESCs

Nothing on Team Orion's site. Anyone know about this motor?

Ah NM it has holes on the can for the internal fan and I read they don't go well with some sensorless ESC. It's on ebay btw.
