I"m having some issues with the bird wanting to drift left without a lot of input is this a gyro setting or just trim... I've tried trimming and that didn't seem to fix the issue. ..I'm wondering why the gyro is set to analog out of the box when the servos appear to be digital. any help on tail setup for the blade 400 would be wonderful.

Although the servos are "digital", the Blade 400 manual mentions that the servo can't take the 275 Hz pulse width, so it has to run in analog in the gyro. However, if you get a Spektrum DSP75 servo (about $20), you can replace the tail servo and put the gyro into digital mode. This is also mentioned in the manual.

My B400 also drifts left, but I'm currently grounded waiting on one of the aforementioned DSP75 servos and some tail rotor blades.

I'm brand new at this, so I can't really help with the drifting part...

Hey guys i got my 400 on the 26th, first attempt to get it up wasnt, i was to scared and nervous from coming from a cx-2.

The second, i had 5 second flight, a 10, then a good 35 second flight.

I flew in cold air, 5 mph wind gusts. It went pretty well, the helicopter flew me for the most part, i kept the tail pretty dang tight.

Mine drifted to the left one, i gave a it a smidgen of right aileron trim , and it was fixed.

Man i love this thing.

My buddy who owns tens of thoulsands of dollars worht in helsi told me to leave my 400 withought the battery in it, in the cold air for about 5 minutes, so the gyro can get cold.

Then i took my warm (room) temperature battery, and plugger her in, and flew it. I wonder if thats what your problem was.

I do have one question for you. Whats the bar on the dxi means? You know how there are all 4 bars, for rudder , throttle left and forward aileron trim?

Well thentheres a 5th bar above the rudder trim, is that the battery?it says 6.2v so i imagine it is. thanks!

I just added about 1/6 of a turn on the gyro gain screw and it seems to hover now...

like the blade cp, the blade 400's are all test flown at the factory, right? - oh, but the gyro screw must have unwound itself during transit, that must be it! - i tell ya, if they flew mine with the swash tilted hard forward like it was it would have never left the ground and prolly smashed the canopy nose - no way are the should be considered "rtf" right out of the box - good marketing move to sell lots of parts though

btw, i just found out that both eflite and align are horizon hobby products - scary, but explains why they use the same balancing plug on the lipos

Horizon is a Align dealer, I don't think they own them. Just like there a Traxxas dealer and so on.

if you read the manual it said the the gain screw in the gyro has no effect on the gyro b/c the gain for the gyro is set in the radio not the gyro its self. so if you wanted to change the gyro gain all you had to do is change it in the radio

You guys are lucky your able to get them. I live in Canada, and this is the first time ive ever said this but, i really wish i didnt live here. stupid E-Flite wont ship Blade 400 3Ds to Canada yet, and only just recently my closest hobby shop (1/2 drive) got their first shipment right b4 xmas. im first in line for the second batch, but it will arrive in late January. problem is, i have exams then, and i wont be able to focus because ill be thinking about ow great it would be to fly one, and be jealous of all u americans or wherever your from that E-Flite is considerate enough to send shipments of these birds to. anyway, enjoy while i sit here and wallow in sorrow.

I picked up a Blade 400 today.
I had the tail issue also.
It needs to be adjusted and it will hold pretty good..........
Here's how to adjust it.

Set the gain in the Tx to 25% on gyro position #1 and center all trims. Now hover the heli and adjust the tail manually. Use the ball link on the tail blades and get the heli to center and hold. You need to do this in non-heading lock mode.
Now filp the gyro switch on the Tx to gyro #2 position about 65% or so. This is heading lock . It should hold pretty well for a low budget gyro.

I have been flying heli's for a long time and I am pretty impressed with this RTF for the $. Mine flies very well so far.
I don't think I will try radical moves with it. It will loop, roll and fly inverted with the stock set up...
