Where can i buy cheap replacement DF motors? Amazon sells them for around $13 per motor. I figure that there must be cheaper alternatives.

I think the main issue is making sure you get the right type of motors -- Mabuchi 280 or similar. Secondarily, you will want motors which have a pinion gear of the correct size, tooth count, and tooth pitch.

I burned out a motor a couple of weeks ago on a hard landing. I ordered a pair of them so I'd have a spare handy if I did it again. I think I paid about $20 USD apiece for them.

After I ordered the motors, I set about trying to remove the pinion gear from the shaft of the burnt motor, and was unable to do so. But then, I don't have a miniature gear puller -- I just used a big pair of ChannelLock pliers and a few other tools of mass destruction.

Yes it is the mabuchi 380, but which model is it? The RA or SA

You heat the pinion with a soldering iron and it slips off if you encounter the situation again - - Eric
