Last year i build a 1/3 scale taube from Balsa USA, enjoyed it so much this year thought i would build a 1/2 scale for a winter project. When i saw the OS Dia-Star IL-300 the plan came togerther. It will not be a Top Gun plane but it should be nice and sound realistic, the frame work is about finish and the cg is right. Enjoy the pics. dave

That is great! What side of the engine does the exhaust exit? I would be very interested to hear how that engine runs.

About ready for the maiden, finished weight 27lbs, wing loading 20 oz. used a B&B 32 oz tank JR 9303 2.4 radio. Build a glowplug heater 5 amp switch with 4- 3800 mAh ni-cd batteies parallel light up from idle to 1/3 throttle. If all go well this will be a work in progress adding detail for a while. Enjoy the pictures, i would be happy for your coments. dave

What a nice job on building. I am particularly interested in what was your choice of covering and secondly, what was the finishing?

Thanks,

DaveB

Had a successful flight today in about 10 mph wind didnt seam to matter. Expected more power from the engine but had it rich (being new) so that should inprove. Landing was nice and soft and no trim was needed for the flight, however may be a little tail heavy need some more time with it to tell, but flys realisticly. enjoys the pic. dave
