No.. I don't mind.. I didn't invent it.. just copied myself too..

I am ready to start the engine today. A milestone for me.. I've been taking my time with this bird.

Got all the tanks and smoke all set.. Tie Wrapped everything

I just got back from the field. Got some quality flight time in before the thunderstoms hit today.
I flew my Showtime.. was doing blenders and the motor quit.. It came down hard.. When I went to retrieve it , it was stuck in some bushes.. Not a scratch on it.. fewwwww... I thought it was toast.

I also flew my Seagull Xray electric. What a nice little plane. All balsa and will do unlimited vertical.. Sweet flyer.

Brian .. PM me again with your email addy. I'll send the files over to you. Good to hear you got another flight gig. the 35 and 40 look awesome to fly. Do you give out snacks? Peanuts and the such...

Later,

Dan

Ya.. those virtual cockpits are the bomb. I think I may have started something here.

So guys.. I started up the Edge today.. First start of the ZDZ80.. All i can say is awesome.. I primed it up and with a few quick flips she turned over. Idles great and transitions well. I can only believe it will even get better. I have a 27X10 N (narrow) Mejlik on it now..

Of course I vibrated the crap out of the fuse and some things vibrated loose.. like my smoke pump. need to use bolts on that thing. I programmed the smoke on aux2 to slave off my throttle. Maybe tomorrow I'll make some wicked smoke in my driveway. I'm sure the neighbors are going to love that. I'm sure they thought I was chain sawing every last tree on my property today.

so close to wrapping this project up..

Next projects on the list:

Rebuild the gp PW300 1/2 done allready
building a super skybolt
finish up the KMP Pitts
building a spad.. whoopie

Need to fix:

my PT19 80" Note.. It's not a 3d and you can't jerk it off the ground.. Fuse is in 3 pieces
rebuild my Wild Hare Baby Edge not that motovated.. But it is a nice plane
Also working on a Bud Nosen Cessna 310 twin 120" wingspan.. Will i ever finish that guy???

Dan

Well.. It was given to me by my brother in law's father. He's a flyer/builder and gave up on it. He did alot of work on the thing and then I took it over.
I picked up a fresh set of plans on ebay last year for it too. Believe it or not the plans call for 2 - .60 size engines.. I think I'll go a wee bit bigger. Prolly a pair of 28 to 32 gassers should do it. There are so many power options now in the smaller gas engines. It's great.

Here's what it's suppose to look like:
And also this is how far I've gotten with it.

Dan

Will,

It was pretty easy. I'm in work so I don't have the radio in front of me, but you need to use mix 6 or 6. Those are the only ones that control aux2.
Master = thottle slave = aux 2

set the hi and low limits on that screen, make the aux 2 active with the switch. I also think you have to go into the advanced menu and enable aux2

I'll check when I get home but it wan't that big of a deal to set up. Mike McConville has a nice how to on setting up aux channels for Spekrum.. just search on it in these forums.

I started up the ZDZ80 this weekend , so next is to test out the smoke system.

Anybody else running smoke on the Edge here?

Dan
