I'm planning to pick up a couple of the VPX packs to build packs for my smaller electric planes as soon as the local Walmart has them back in stock but I'm also interested in building a pack that could be used in a 40 size plane so I think I would need something larger than the 1100 mah cells.

At this time it still appears that the best price on the 2300 A123 cells is on e-Bay for DeWalt 36 volt packs, running at approximately $10/cell. $100 for a 10 cell pack.
