I’m looking for 3D foamy, something that will fly nice and slow and is rugged enough to cop some crashes while learning.

Any suggestions?

Profile foamies are gonna fly better, but less durable.

Try this plane: http://www.spadtothebone.com/freeplans.htm (how to get to the plans) go to the 3D/novelty on the menu bar it is called the ESPA3D. I have built two of these planes, they are extremely easy to make 2-3 hours. I flies VERY slow, you can make it out of depron or FFF. I used depron. my power system was an e-flite 370 outrunner, e-flite 20A BL ESC, TP3 cell 1320 lipo, spectrun DX6, and 3 e-flite s75 servos. I must warn you DON'T try to hover the plane I crashed mine twice trying, but it does harrer less than 1 mph. good luck[:D]

QQ BYP Yak is a nice somewhat larger foamy.Great indoor outdoor and capable.
Not ideal for learning perhaps and not meant for crashing at all.
It requires good rudder inputs and helps learn that important control input.
If you can fly already it maybe worth a look,it can really slow down and be docile.

the key is WEIGHT....

if your indoor plane is more than 8 or 8 oz, then it is just too big for inside,,,

The Vrolet is nice, the Sobre is good, the Enticement is nice.. the original Shock Flyers are good too... but you MUST use the correct compenents to build them light weight....
a 5oz shock flyer is nice.. a 9 or 10 oz sock flyer is a pig

exeter acres, I don't think that statement about an indoor plane having to weigh less than 8 oz is crooect at all. that spad I posted was 12.5 oz and I could easly fly it in a gym, heck I flew it in my garage once!

Our club started flying indoor about a year ago. None of us had any experience flying indoor and the carnage was proof of that. That is until a friend told me about the importance of building light and flying slow enough to have time to react. He had a simple Shock Flier that weighed about 5 oz. I flew it and was instantly convinced. Here is a recipe for a successful indoor plane.

Plane:

Ikarus Super Star $29.95

Motor: I will give a couple of choices here. Both make great power plants.
24g 1700KV motor+ radial mount + prop saver Total > $12.89

Eflite park 250 A bit more expensive but lighter and quite powerful for it's size.

ESC:
TP 9g 12A Brushless Speed Controller A very good, light ESC. >$9.99
or
Turnigy 10 amp 9g ESC A little more money but more features.

Servos:
5g servo
or
HXT900 9g / 1.6kg / .12sec Micro Servo Very good light weight servo. > 3 X $3.49 = $10.47 for all three.

Lipo;
360mAh 15-20C LiPo

You build one of these for your indoor flying, keep the speed down and you'll be flying 3D before you know it.

I am really getting into indoor 3D planes myself, I want a profile 3D plane that can fly indoors and out, not like F3P, just 3D capable.

I was looking at the Castle Creations Kesteral.

what receiver? what about the eflite enticement built stock?
