I have scratch built pylon type plane, but a bit smaller than Q500 size . the plane has a laminar wing and really is just a test bed for a speed plane. I am putting a sport jett.50 on it and all up weight is 3.1 pounds. I am going for all out speed and was hoping someone could tell me what prop size will probably give me best results.

Also take a look at the pylon props recommended by Bob27s in numerous threads. You may find that clipping some pylon props in the 9 inch or more pitch range, down to 8.00 - 8.25" diameter, may work dandy. I'd mess with 8.75 - 9.25 inch pitch as starters. Trim until your ground rpm is within spec, then fly. With a small, clean airframe you may not need the disc area of a 9" prop, and may be able to take advantage of a smaller prop with more pitch.

Which muffler are you using, the sport or SS? The SS will allow you to spin up a bit more and may be the ticket for you.
