Yes those gear boxes look great. The low profile sure works well with the T-34. I have a SU 100 with the original drive. Once this starts giving me trouble, I know what i'll be putting in it!!!.

Nice work Rob. Looks pretty much like a bullet-proof set up!

thanks for the encouragement guys Really happy with the way it turned out limited work and a lot of gains
the brass tube between the rear gears is a must
as those that have the T34 will now just how much play there is in there

Wow I would like to mod my T34 with that gearbox too. Oh by the way, would like to know where did you order the metal spur gear from? I would like to put one onto the T34 shaft too and see if it increases the torque. I've tried to search for the ebay add which you gave but couldn't find the ebayer.

the "spur" gear is from the metal upgrade set and the one i got was from the Blueslatesman of E-vil bay
unfortunatly the rest of the gears from the set are now useless

this gear is actually from the Henlong metal gearbox on the final shaft which attaches to the sprocket

Yes, the plastic gear housing is just not up to the task of holding those metal gears all in place for the long term. The gear transplant will probably be required on my SU 100 one day. I believe in running them unitl failure though, and so far the SU 100 has stayed together. I still have the metal tracks on the shelf though, as I have been afraid to tax the stock gearbox with the addition of the metal tracks. Seems like once you go to metal tracks you better be prepared for things to start going wrong.

I've popped 2 std gearboxes in mine (although they were being run on std car E.S.Cs)
which is why i went with the metal upgrade put that in but it still was noisey and the gears "floated" around so much decided enough was enough and went this route

What make of tank is this? It looks similar to a Heng Long.
